I hired Josh in a medical marijuana case and all he did was walk me into a felony plea (for MEDICAL marijuana!) and did NOT explain the conditions of my plea. Also, he did not answer my phone calls afterward, where I was pleading for help. He got his money and did a TERRIBLE job! No better than havin...g a public defender!

Mr.Covert fought for my felony possession charge to be dropped per section 8 of the medical marijuana act. We however did not take it to trail Mr.Covert was able to get the procescuter to offer just an illegal transport. So no drug charge or felony was given. If you are looking for a lawyer who is... actually going to fight for you and defend you well Mr.Covert is your guy I have never felt more comfortable in the court room than when Mr.Covert was by my side one of the best Medical marijuana lawyers in the state in my opinion he has won awards that were voted on by medical patients.

I contacted several attorneys when I was accused by law enforcement of marihuana related charges, as well as having forfeiture issues related to those charges. One of them was Josh Covert. I found Josh to be friendly, knowledgeable, concerned, and makes himself available at most any time. Josh... has a laid back personality and is very easy to talk with, so I felt completely comfortable talking with him about every detail concerning my legal situation. He expressed to me his reason for becoming a marihuana defense lawyer was a personal reason, not just a way to make a living. That fact was impressive and important to me. I will also say that I dealt with Josh directly for every meeting and court proceeding, which was very important to me. I didn't want to be represented by an attorney who would pass me off to a colleague after I signed the contract to represent me. To briefly sum up Josh's legal expertise and how it related to my particular case, I am happy with the outcome vs. the initial charges filed and I am very satisfied with the outcome of the forfeiture proceedings given the entities we were dealing with. Also the speed in which my situation was resolved. Josh knows the law and has an approach prosecutors and judges seem to respond favorably to. I think it's unrealistic to expect that there will be no bumps or minor issues such as scheduling conflicts when working with someone over several months. With that being said, I have to say that Josh and his staff did a pretty good job minimizing any problems concerning scheduling, and communications. As far as cost I have to say that as with anything, you get what you pay for. Josh charged me a flat rate rather than a per hour basis, which is his preferred method. That worked best for me because I had no idea how much legal work would be required. By the end of the proceedings, Josh reduced his fee because of the speed and progress of the case. Needless to say, that was very kind and honest of him and speaks volumes regarding his integrity and dedication to the specific area of law he chose to practice. Josh's staff was very nice and understanding when I had questions or concerns related to my case. I would hire Josh Covert as my legal counsel again. I would also recommend him to others.

Joshua is a very able attorney who knows his stuff. The Nichols Law firm of which Joshua is a partner is well respected throughout the state. This makes a huge difference to the prosecutors who know how tough it might be to get a conviction. This lends itself to a better bargaining position, which is... why you want to hire someone like Joshua. I was very happy with the plea bargain he got for me which avoided a felony charge. When you need a good lawyer, get one, do not leave your legal fate to inexperienced attorneys, especially in DUI or drug cases. I was happy to write this review for Mr. Covert, when someone does you right, it is a natural thing to thank them. I highly recommend his service.
