Advice sought on Assault

Very nice gentleman and we only conversed through email. Don't talk to police and get an attorney is just information and I can learn from my cat. He meant well but that type of general information is one size fits all.

I’m sorry you feel that way. It sounds like I answered a question for you for free on AVVOs forum. Although I do not remember the specifics, that is the correct answer 80% of the time for typical questions on this forum . Legal issues are usually too complex to analyze from a few sentences in a question, and if questions are too complex, then the default answer will most certainly be contact a lawyer. Whether you were the victim of the assault or you allegedly committed the assault (or any fact pattern relating to an assault), you would need to have a lawyer look at it in depth. Assaults are not as cut and dry as most would think. Many times, people do not want to hear that they need a lawyer and think they can handle the legal issue themselves. And you are right, that advice is one size fits all, and is usually the best advice that I can give in a short time frame, for free, so that I can focus my efforts on current clients. Take care.
