Awful experience

Absolute awful experience. In 2023 when my wife and I decided divorce was the only answer for us. I visited this law firm. It was sold by TJ who convinced me of how great they were. I should’ve shopped around. I know I should’ve but I felt comfortable with TJ. Now back it up, a second, when I first c...alled the law firm I was looking for Vera since her name was on the door, but she told me she absolutely could not stand the opposing Cynthia Hall, and that wanted to hand me off to TJ because he had experience litigating with her. So I decided to stay with him and give him a shot. He was very knowledgeable and a sharp kid so I was comfortable at first. After a while, I realized that it was hard to get him to return any of my calls or emails. But that was OK because I was under the impression. No news is good news and he wasn’t gonna charge me to tell me nothing has changed. Two months before my pre-trial when they finally started getting my Divorce in motion, he quit the law Firm and didn’t notify me at all as his client. One of the people at her office had to call me and asked me if I wanted to stay with her. At this point in time I was so far into the trial and they had so much of my information already spent close to $10,000. I figured what the heck now I guess I get Vera which originally I thought was a good thing. Within my first interview with actually sitting down with her, I was completely unimpressed. She was very scattered had no idea anything about my case, even though she charged me to come sit with her so we could discuss it and she was absolutely not prepared. Anything that I had sent her the email that she requested she had lost. And any conversation I tried to have with her. She acted like she was completely flustered. At that point in time, I gave her the benefit of a doubt thinking maybe since her star protégé quit maybe he dumped a lot more caseloads on her which spread her thin. But its time went on. I started to realize more And any conversation I tried to have with her. She acted like she was completely flustered. At that point in time, I gave her the benefit of a doubt thinking maybe since her star protégé quit maybe he dumped a lot more caseloads on her which spread her thin. But it’s time went on. I started to realize more and more that I had made a huge mistake and should’ve gone somewhere else originally. She did not have any contact with me the week before the trial, stating that I would not even be on the stand the first day and this would take at least two days because the opposing council had a huge list of witnesses she needed to depose. And this was absolutely not the truth. When we went to court that morning, I was the first one called up to the stand. Absolutely no preparation from her whatsoever. And I realized why she was not prepared herself. She was scattered, was not ready for the beat down she took. Cynthia Hall literally took her apart in that courtroom while she paced around clenching her hands. I felt so let down, like I think she was looking for a safe space to go to. Everyone kept saying she’s a bulldog but maybe that was the past definitely not anymore. After spending closer to $20,000 for her total, I realize that’s money I just threw away. She got nothing done on my side whatsoever. I literally could’ve got the same decision just walking in and throwing myself at the mercy of the court. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a divorce attorney higher Cynthia Hall, if she’s not available, then get anyone else but this firm. I mean, even after the trial, my ex and her family were saying what an awful attorney I hired. They actually felt bad for me. I’m guessing, maybe she was too busy trying to run for a judge that she didn’t have time to consider my future with this divorced and what the repercussions were to my life. I’m hoping the voters make an educated decision

Horrible Experience!!!!

I chose to utilize Ms.Bergermann's law firm for my child custody and child support case. My review is not to be spiteful but to inform the next potential client to strongly reconsider hiring a different attorney. Ms. Bergermann's law firm lacks professionalism on so many levels. It is not easy dealin...g with any situation that is affecting some ones personal life as it is, and to have an attorney that does not value you as a customer makes it even worse. Every time I had a question or I needed more information, I would always get "Vera will call you back" or one of her employees being extremely rude, and act as if my call was a burden and become frustrated with having to communicate information with me. On several occasions I was hung up on. They made such comments as "you are calling too much". Unfortunately because I do live on the other coast telephone communication was the only method for me to truly understand step by step what was going on with my case. I was always left in the dark. I would not receive calls back, they chose to email their responses. Vera also took extremely long on booking my court hearing. I paid for those services back in December it was not until late March the following year that I finally received my final court hearing. Not only that, but 2 day prior to my court hearing, I received a call from one for her employees almost threatening me, that If i do not pay 2 hours of her to represent me upfront which was $600, Ms.Bergermann was going to withdraw from my case and will not appear in court. Let me emphasize that this was 2 days prior to my hearing, they had from December to March to inform me of these charges. I was also informed that any money not used was going to be refunded. She represented me for less than one hour and still kept what was remaining. Ms. Bergermann was not prepared for my case. Did very little talking, and I felt as if she could have tried a little harder to fight for me as her client. The final judgment did not go in my favor and it was truly not necessary to even have Vera Bergermann there. She did not say anything that would persuade a judge to rule in my favor. This law firm and employees have poor customer service. It is unprofessional and unresponsive. I attempted many times to look past the way I was being treated by the staff in fear that this attorney would withdraw at any moment. I too work in this industry and I could understand that on busy days sometimes people do not have the time to do the little things like apologize, say please and thank you and sometimes things get lost in translation so I tried to give them the benefit of doubt. But her staff has serious attitudes that need to be addressed, especially in a situation where the business is representing you. Overall I would not recommend Vera Bergermann's, the overall experience has been awful. To Ms. Vera Bergermann's with all do respect, your administrative staff (Kim, Chris, Desiree) definitely need a refresher course on the importance of customer service. Great attitudes keep companies thriving, and if they are going to be representing your law firm then doing it with a polite and positive attitude should be part of the job description. Thank you for your efforts.

This review was posted by the disgruntled girlfriend of a former client. To say that she misstates the facts is a gross understatement. We took this case after a less experienced attorney left the client with a child support obligation that he couldn't afford and no regular schedule with the client's children. We don't usually pick up such a mess, especially when the client is on an extremely limited budget (such as this one). We settled the child support and scheduling issues within WEEKS of receiving the case. The client insisted on having a TRIAL over the location of where the children would be exchanged and then he DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE TRIAL. The judge ruled in a way that gave both parties some of what they wanted, but not all. It was a very fair ruling. Think about what kind of person would have a TRIAL just on the issue of whether he drives a half hour more or less twice a month--after he has had his child support significantly reduced by the mother of his two children and received the parenting schedule he wanted, (and then didn't use when it was inconvenient for him). The disgruntled girlfriend would call our office repeatedly and be extremely rude to my staff. We were under no obligation to speak with her. She was angry, because HER family was paying the legal bill! It took awhile for the system to process his child support reduction AND she was pregnant with his child. She wanted the extra funds for her own child and threatened us repeatedly that she would "trash" our firm online if we wouldn't listen to her ranting. These are the people who have no idea on how to behave--whether over the phone or otherwise. The opposing party, incidentally, was unrepresented, always behaved professionally, and followed through on commitments--unlike our sorry client. In the world of clients, sometimes you get a kitten--and sometimes a skunk.

This individual has attempted to post his commentary several times. We believe that we know the identity of this person and we never did a trial at all. This individual had serious substance abuse issues and was a menace to my staff. He was terminated as a client. There was never a trial and we did not represent him beyond the initial pleading stage.
