Integrity, honesty, professionalism and compassion.

Darrin took time to advise me on how to resolve my tax problem on my own. I consulted two of the major tax relief companies which changed the amounts of the retainer just before I was about to sign a contract for them to represent me. I thought that the retainer amount should not have changed but I... do understand the fees for service will vary greatly based on the complexity of the case. Because I didn't feel comfortable with the way they did business I declined and began researching the internet. I learned of Darrin T. MIsh on You Tube and by watching his videos I contacted him about my individual tax debt of $41,588.35 from 1998 to 2008. Since a levy to garnish wages at $1,107.98 p/mo had already been enforced he said I should get transcripts of my record of account, verify the CSED (collection statute expiration date), and try to negotiate with the IRS on my own. On Thursday, 9/17/15 at 8:30am I went to the IRS office in Phoenix and initially the revenue agent said I owed the full amount. When I asked about CSED he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about so I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor knew exactly what CSED was and after about 40 minutes of reviewing my case she called a individual taxpayer advisor to come to her office and instructed her to prepare a Form 688-D to release the levy on my wages. Then the supervisor told me that because the 10 year statute of limitations passed on tax years 2002 and older, I was not liable to pay the tax as it is unenforceable. She did say that I owed $6,308.39 and asked how much can I afford to pay each month, I said $600 and she agreed and prepared the Form 9465 for me to sign. The supervisor gave me copies of the Levy Release, Installment Agreement and transcripts to verify all CSED years 1998 to 2002 were unenforceable. The individual taxpayer advisor came back with a fax confirmation from my employer to verify they received the levy release and gave me a copy. I left the IRS office at 12:00 pm and called my employer and HR verified they received the levy release and will stop the wage garnishment immediately. I NEVER could have accomplished this without watching the You Tube videos from Darrin T. Mish and some additional research of my own. Darrin, you rock! and thank you for urging me to give this a try. I was totally prepared to ask you to represent me and send you a retainer if I was on the hook for the entire $41k. The main reason for my post is because even though I did not pay you for any advice or hire you to represent me, you were willing to take valuable time from your schedule to communicate with me and help me solve my tax problem on my own. That is a sign of integrity, honesty, professionalism and compassion. If I ever need your services or know of someone who does, I would be confident to refer them to you! By the way, I even sent Darrin a copy of the Form 688-D Release of Levy/Release of Property from Levy to show him the results. The only advice I can offer is the national tax relief companies don't compare to Darrin, do your research, gather your documentation, be polite and respectful when dealing with the IRS, be reasonable when agreeing to a solution, but stand your ground and make your position known. The entire experience with the IRS was friendly and courteous even if the revenue agent did act as if he didn't know about the 10 year statute of limitations on collecting tax debt. The supervisor was the key to the solution in my case. After 4 hours I reduced my tax debt from $41,588.35 to $6308.39 and stopped the wage garnishment of $1,107.98 p/mo and set up a $600 p/mo payment plan. I must admit Darrin T. Mish and his You Tube videos were the major influence on my tactics and the results. I could have posted about 1,400 more words (which) I sent to Darrin, but there is not enough space. If you need tax help, contact Darrin T. Mish!

Saved Me!

I owed the IRS well over $100,000.00. I didn't know what to do. I was scared to do anything for fear that the IRS would take everything I had or even throw me in jail. I finally called the Law Offices of Darrin T. Mish. They were very nice to me. They explained all of my options to me and we sett...led on trying to file an Offer in Compromise. The process took a LONG time and I had to fill out lots of paperwork but eventually I got my answer! It was a YES! So when you hear that people can settle for pennies on the dollar with the IRS. It's true.....take it from me.

He Definitely Did Right By Me!

I am a single mother of a small child. I used to be married but my ex-husband ultimately went to prison for abusing me and other various violent crimes. After he was in prison for a while, I got a letter from the IRS indicating that my husband and I owed $42321. He used to work under the table and ne...ver reported the income. When the IRS got the 1099 forms, the changed our tax return and it showed that we owed all that money! I didn't understand that since we filed a joint return, that I was on the hook for the big tax bill too. I went to see Mr. Mish thinking that I might be able to make a deal with the IRS. He explained how an Offer in Compromise works but said he wanted to try Innocent Spouse Relief first. He helped me fill out all the papers and submitted them to the IRS. The process took a long time but they explained everything along the way and predicted exactly what would happen. Overall, I am very satisfied and strongly recommend this law firm to anyone with a tax problem

Completely disappointed in the lack of professionalism

We hired Darren to handle an IRS tax issue that became our problem when our father passed away. We paid for their services and while we thought our issue was being handled, we received a letter from the IRS that Darren T. Mish was no longer representing us. Not a word from him or his associates, we... were notified by the IRS. When I contacted him regarding the issue, it was the weekend and he said he would look into it after the weekend and get back to me. He never did, not a word, meanwhile his associate Misti was emailing me stating they notified us, etc but that was a lie. I think she was trying to cover up her lack of professionalism as well. Either way, they both should be avoided at all cost. Save your money and spare yourself a headache of doing business with these people.

I am aware of this case. This gentleman was not the client. His sister was actually the client. The two of them did not communicate well with each other. The issue actually turned out very well but this gentleman wanted to call repeatedly and demand that we spend time explaining issues to him when he was not the client. He generally had a very poor attitude and was very demanding. As for the fact that I did not return his calls, my attitude was that he was not the client, his sister received a great result and that should have sufficed. I suppose in hindsight, I should have taken his call and his abuse. It's likely he still would have posted a negative review. He could not be satisfied no matter the outcome.
