Job Well Done--For Nearly 8 Years

During the 2008 economic meltdown, I retained Ms Arkovich to defend my wife and me against a wrongful foreclosure action. It took 7 years of her efforts to get the case to hearing, after which the judge ruled in our favor, dismissed the case without prejudice, and ordered our attorney fees to be pai...d by the loser bank, in 2015. Following the appeal of the Bartram case and renewed threats of foreclosure against us, and at our request, Ms. Arkovich applied for a non-recourse loan modification for us. This took another 9 months, but she achieved total success. Her repeated legal efforts, for nearly 8 years now, have enabled me to keep my wife in our home, to recover financially--and to sleep well again, knowing that our mortgage payments are now affordable, that our home will indeed remain "ours", and that our 8-year-long ordeal of foreclosure hell is now closed for good and behind us forever. I give her highest ratings for: Intelligence, Legal Experience, Courtroom Presence, Professionalism, Ethics, Accessibility, Responsiveness, Empathy and Understanding of a client's plight and needs. I recommend her without reservation to anyone seeking a defense attorney with these traits, which were consistently proven to me during nearly 8 years as her client.

Brought Peace to the chaos

I first contacted Christie in 2011 for a free 30 min. consultation about filing bankruptcy options. I am self employed massage therapist. I witness my clients going through financial troubles and unable to make their appointments since 2009. A few even faced foreclosures but I felt the economy will g...et better I will ride the wave. I will be okay but I was in denial for years. I needed to find out my option so I search late at night on the internet and I saw Christie write up and more importantly I saw a place to fill out to explain my situation. Writng my situation I felt a crying release because I just share my situation for the first time to anyone. I was nervous when Christie called for my free consultation she lay out my options on what I could do immediately and what I could do if I waited to file Bankruptcy. I was so nervous but Christie voice calm me that I was not alone. At that time I had told no one of my financial crisis. Most individuals especially caregivers keep personal things inward, we do not want to burden people, we are caring for them, and again I was hopeful the economy would turn around. One option for me was to liquidate my assets and wait to file if I needed to file. The other option was to file now. I elected to sell my stocks I had for retirement. Again I was still in hopeful that the economy would recover. Christie and her wondeful staff especially Angie my champion took my calls and emails for the next three years whenever I had a concern about my mortgage company chaos. I could not face filing bankruptcy at the same time I was mentally exhausted with doing my streamline loan. Christie and Angie brought be peaceful assurance that there is light at the end of the tunnel, a fresh start. I finally filed my bankruptcy in 2014. I exhausted all funds and the economy was not improving . I was so thankful that the court trustee agreed and allowed me to make payments to buy my asset (vehicle) back. I know this review is long but I believe there are alot of individuals who are in or have been in a similiar situation feeling alone and not communicating their financial situation to anyone, not knowing what to do, and needing a knowledgable, compassionate, legal team to help them through one of the most difficult time in their lives. I appreciate Christe, Angie, and the staff for being there for me and I know they can be there for you.

An Attorney who cares

When I met Christie, my finances were completely upside down, I had creditors calling me constantly, and life was one big stressful situation. I did some research to find a bankruptcy attorney, and thankfully, came across Christie Arkovich. Her website was very informative and her bio was very impres...sive. Reading all of that made me feel at ease knowing that I found the right attorney. When I met her, she was so caring, understanding, and wanted to help me. I was being harassed by creditors and it was nonstop. I wanted to file bankruptcy, but couldn't afford it either. She worked with me because she knew that the constant harassment that I was receiving was wrong as well as being financially upside down. She helped me fight against creditors and came out victoriously. I had no idea that it was an option to fight back. I wish more people knew that you have rights too. You don't have to be a victim of the constant calls, harassment, and the feeling of never getting out of a financial hole. If you feel that you're being harassed, make a call log and keep track of everything. I highly suggest fighting back because the benefits, the piece of mind, and the feeling of having the weight lifting off your shoulders is worth it. She will guide you in the right direction and will give you options and ways to help you and do what is best for you. She is someone who cares about her clients, puts them first, and who will help you completely from start to finish. You can always contact her and she will always make sure to get right back to you, and will even call you personally. Her staff has been very nice, understanding, and very easy to talk to as well. I highly recommend her because she has been a life saver. I will always be thankful for her help and support.

Excellent Bankruptcy, Mortgage and Foreclosure Defense

My wife and I appreciate and value everything Christie has done in order for us to keep our home. Without her expertise and assistance, we would have gone through foreclosure, lost our home and still been liable for a second mortgage. Prior to engaging Christie, we enlisted the services of three ...other attorneys for bankruptcy, mortgage and/or foreclosure defense. We found one that helped us through the bankruptcy, but only really provided “logistic” support. It was difficult to get straight forward answers and they were not nearly as knowledgeable as Christie. The other two were arrogant and seemed to only be in it for the money with extensive “fine print” that would have made it unfeasible to settle any negotiated amount. Bankruptcy: Our original bankruptcy attorney only helped us with our “secured” debt obligations. We tried to get them to include our second mortgage but said there was no way to include that in our Chapter 7 filing, although I had found some cases in which it had been done based on the fact that our home was upside down and there was no value for the second to secure. The court approved our bankruptcy and discharged our obligations, except for the second mortgage since we didn’t include that in the filing. When we met with Christie, she informed us that we in fact could have the second mortgage stripped off and helped us reopen the original bankruptcy. It was approved! This cleared the way for us to now work with the mortgage servicer and keep our home. Mortgage and Foreclosure Defense: We had a situation where we originally had a first and second mortgage. The bank, WAMU, sold its holdings to Chase. Chase had two separate divisions, one that handled the first and another that handled the second. Neither communicated with each other. Although we tried to accept Chase’s first mortgage offer, they could not confirm that this would satisfy the second (note above situation). As time went on, when we did try to accept the offer, it was too late and they made the determination that we had declined, although they wouldn’t accept our counter offer of our acceptance it they included the second as part of the satisfaction. Also, we had paid a few months while going this process (another mistake). At that point, Chase sold our loan to BSI, a mortgage servicer (no matter how they spin it, they are an unscrupulous debt collector!). They made numerous offers that we tried to accept and then they would say that their management would not approve! As well, they got nasty. My wife checked them out online only to find that their reputation was horrible. My wife then went looking for another attorney and found Christie. What a blessing! She helped us get our second mortgage obligation discharged (as mentioned above) and helped us understand our options in order to keep our home. She provided us with a clear understanding of how the process works, with examples, and helped us map out a plan. In addition, Christie helped us as we worked through the short payoff. She negotiated with BSI when things got sticky and was available to speak on the phone or in person when we needed to resolve issues or review status. Oh, and she NEVER brought up money after our initial agreement! And, she didn’t gouge us or have additional “hidden” fees. Christie has a great deal of integrity, is very compassionate, intelligent and takes a personal interest. Without Christie’s professionalism and understanding of how the “system” works, we probably would have lost our home or been in huge debt with the mortgage servicer. We cannot express our appreciation enough. We highly recommend Christie and her firm if you need bankruptcy, mortgage or foreclosure defense. Thanks Christie!

Home Modification

I would highly recommend Christie Arkovich for anyone needing a re-finance or is in a home foreclosure. My results were outstanding with a mod of 2% interest rate and also a large amount of arrearages forgiven by the lender. She has a team behind her that keeps in contact throughout the process, but... if you need to communicate with her directly, she will follow up via e mail or phone call.
