I was charged with a dui in the keys. I initially hired a keys lawyer. He sounded tough before I hired him
and afterwards it seemed like he wanted me to plea to the charges. I felt like I might be better off with a lawyer that specialized in dui's and had a lot of practice defending that type of cas...e. I changed counsel to have Larry represent me in my dui case. He asked the state to review the charges for a possible reduction of the charges . The state did not want to reduce the charges.I came into the office and went over the whole case with Larry. He was straightforward with me. He told me the strengths and weaknesses in my case. He also had a good insight into the kind of jury I might have in that area. he did not promise any kind of outcome. I liked that he did not try to talk me into a decision one way or the other. I also liked that he was not afraid to go to court and hear the case. In the in end we were going to here the case if the state would not reduce the charges . To plea to dui would have meant the end of my 25 year driving career with a national company.
Larry continued to negotiate with the Prosecutor and worked out a deal to reduce to a reckless driving charge. This allows me to keep my career and move forward. I feel like the respect Larry has earned over the years from prosecutors was what made them look at my case a third time and reduce charges.
I would also like to say that Larry usually answered the phone when I called. and when he didn't he always called back as soon as possible. He is honest, straightforward,diligent, and a good negotiator.
I would not hesitate to recommend him to someone in my situation.
