Okay I’ve waited long enough, my family hired mr hurd for our immigration cases, and there’s literally nothing this lawyer has done to help my case even tho I contacted him asking for help multiple times, he stopped responding to me on may 25th 2022 cancelled my zoom calls, promising he would help bu...t did nothing afterwards I’ve tried contacting his office they didn’t even pick up my phone number also his paralegal assistant Malisa wouldn’t respond to my phone calls or emails I could call from different numbers to his office they’d respond and after they knew it was me suddenly I’d be put on hold or everyone was too busy doing something else promising they’d call me back and never did today is August 5th, 2022 and still no response from this lawyer or his assistant. Sadly I’ve trusted these people, sharing my experience so you guys don’t get a bad lawyer who promises to help takes money and won’t do nothing.

Attorney Mr. Rusten Hurd and Paralegal Ms. Malisa Suwan represented me very effectively to apply for a same-sex fiancé visa in Ghana. This application was extremely difficult and time-consuming for all involved, and we dealt with many hurdles primarily due to the unprofessional and overtly homophobic... behavior of certain high level Consular Officers in the U. S. Embassy Ghana. Even though we submitted nearly 1000 pages of documentation the Deputy Consul who interviewed my fiancé for an unprecedented three times demanded even more "bona fide" proof, so we provided it. This was clearly a case of discrimination and retribution on the part of Embassy personnel because I had the audacity to report their inappropriate behavior to the U. S. Dept. of State Office of Inspector General as well as Senator Bill Nelson's office. When the Deputy Consul refused my fiancé his K-1 visa two times Attorney Hurd communicated directly with the Consul General and repeatedly expressed our dissatisfaction with the manner in which they were handling this application. In the end he confronted the Consul General in a non-threatening and effective manner for what was clearly a case of discrimination and harassment of my fiancé on their part. I firmly believe that if Attorney Hurd had not taken these corrective actions that my fiancé would not have been granted a fiancé visa. Attorney Hurd came out fighting for us in an effective and professional manner when "push came to shove" with the U. S. Embassy Ghana Consular personnel, and I believe that was exactly what was needed along with my actions for us to achieve success.
