Jason was my DUI lawyer. I was charged with DUI under 21 by the Thunderbolt Police. My charge was reduced to reckless driving in the State Court of Chatham County with no DUI on my record. Jason was very informative throughout every step of my case. He was easy to keep in touch with through either ...phone or the basecamp system. I was instructed by Jason when hiring him I would need to hire an expert witness for 2300.00 What i didnt know was Jason would rely soley on the work of the expert witness, He filed 2 motions during the case that he withdrew during the hearings as he was not prepared. The expert witness suggested gro...unds for dismisal that jason never mentioned to me at all, He was very unorganized and did not recall details of the case when i would try to discuss them. Only after the prosecution read the expert witnesses opinion of the facts and discussed the lack of evidence as the case against me was based soley on a preliminary breath test that picked up the mouthwash that was used moments before the stop was made and prior dui convictions... The prosecution immediately offered a deal, why jason needed an expert to get this deal is unreal, no field sobriety tests were offered, no slurred speech, no mention of impaired behavior at all on the police report NONE! Why an expert witness was the first line of our defense instead of taking the lack of evidence to the DA and trying to get it dropped or reduced prior to the additional 2300.00 expense was a lack of effort on his behalf, non of his reviews talk about the need if an expert witness but beware if you hire him expect to pay out additionally for your defense, It may be wise in your case but I do not believe it should always be necessary if the attorney actually applies himself as he is paid to do. Jason over billed me 552.00 for his service( not referring to the expert witness fee) i believe it was an honest mistake but when i asked him to look into it he was extremely rude and kicked me out of his office. He called later that evening and left a voiemail stating he found the mistake and would mail a check but never even apologized, instead he sent a letter saying to never contact him again and telling me I was not a good person Jason was consistently disrespect ful in the way he would speak to me. I would have fired him along the way but I was to financially invested in him. Jason actually gave me more anxiety then the case itself. A very bad experience
