I worked with Emily during my recent divorce with a child custody arrangement and settlement agreement. She responded to my emails promptly and provided all options so I could be informed and choose accordingly. I always felt that she was looking out for my interests while being fair and reasonable... about all options. Ms. Yu aggravated my ex and opposing counsel by stretching every deadline to the last minute. I did not need that added negative. I may as well have represented myself. In fact, when it came time to go to court, Ms. Yu told me she would be unavailable but that it was no big deal because she could jus...t send a substitute attorney. If someone I had never dealt with who had no knowledge of my case could represent me in court, then why did I pay her over $25,000? Note that all these glowing reviews on Avvo are old. Seems like something changed in her life since these were written because I certainly did not get the representation or effort that one would expect from a $450+ an hour attorney. Ms. Yu should stick to just being a mediator - that suits her demeanor and level of effort better.
