Military Representation

I had been notified by the military of a Boar do Inquires. This notification is to determine if I am able to stay in the military. My case is unique, I had 19 years and three months in service and I was short three months to avoid a Board of Inquires. I researched and called many attorneys, Steven fr...om Shewmanker & Shewmaker was the only attorney who returned my call. That conversation proved to me Steve’s knowledge of military proceedings; at that moment, I knew he would be the one to represent me. This by far was my best move, Steve and his staff was very professional, thorough in preparing for my case. Our first meeting identified the most influential witness for my case and I left his office confident and ready to take on this challenge for me and my family. During that time before my case Steve’s office notified me on several mediums to help in the preparedness of the Board of Inquires. The day of the Board Steve set the conditions for success, his performance, knowledge was evident during the trial, and in the end; it generated a decision to allow the board members to retain me for retirement. I know if I had gone any other route than Steve at Shewmaker & Shewmaker, it would have resulted in a negative result. I am pleased with Steve’s services and to date provide his card to other military and none military personnel. Thank you and your staff for your professionalism and friendship. Rarely have I seen the military attempt to do a more unfair thing. I was so happy that we were able to prevent the injustice they sought.

Great Job

Steve Shewmaker came highly recommended as an attorney. I did extensive research on hiring an attorney for my divorce. I chose Steve because he is very well respected among his colleagues as being ethical, honest, and intelligent. He is understanding and has exceptional foresight in how a case could ...be determined. Steve’s ability to put things in perspective and get me to look down the road saved me a lot of money. He also saved me a lot of money because he is very efficient. My divorce started in 2014 and I hired Steve. The wife and I worked things out. A year later I was getting divorced again. I was talked into using another attorney by some friends. This attorney had all the credentials so to speak. Two months into my divorce I fired that attorney and went back to Steve. I later found out that Steve also practices Military Law, which came in very helpful since I am a Military Reservist. Through my contacts in the military I found out that Steve is one of the top Military Attorney’s in the nation. My X-Wife even trusted Steve and sought his advice. At the tail end of the divorce my X-Wife’s attorney dismissed her as a client. Although Steve could not advise her on how to proceed he explained things at her level and we were finally able to work through the last few issues. A divorce is one big compromise on everything. Steve was in my corner the whole way. His ability to work with the other side was key for my settlement. I received exceptional visitations rights and did not have to pay alimony. I even got to keep the house. My divorce settlement was very favorable to me. All because of Steve’s ability as an attorney and hard work.

Excellent Military Attorney

I was deployed half way around the world facing a career-ending adverse action. Mr. Shewmaker was with me through every aspect of the process from notification of investigation through response to findings and recommendations. He skillfully identified errors on the part of Command and presented th...e facts in a way that led to a positive resolution of my case. I would recommend Mr. Shewmaker to any servicember.

amazing military lawyer !

I was facing military court martial for a crime I did not commit and with steves help the truth was put out there and a not guilty verdict was given. This man literally saved my career and life , I highly recommend him for any situation you may be in .

Couldn't have asked for a better lawyer!

I was facing getting possibly getting chaptered out of the Army for an EO complaint. My Army appointed lawyer gave me a list of names of lawyers she has worked with before to possibly choose from as civilian council. I wasn't forced to use these names she had provided for me, but I thought I would lo...ok them up anyways. I came across Steve Shewmakers name and looked up reviews for him. I did not find any bad reviews that were Military related, and I thought he would be a good pick for me. He worked very well with my Army appointed lawyer, was willing and able to answer all of my questions, I was able to stay in touch with him on a fairly consistent basis, and most of all he helped me win my case with the Army separation board and I was able to be retained in the Army. Because of Shewmaker, I have the second chance that everyone deserves. I feel confident in saying that Mr. Shewmaker will do everything he can to get you the outcome you desire. And hopefully I don't need representation again, but should I find that I do, Steve Shewmaker will be my first call.
