War Heroes and Civilians are not Alone!!

As soldier life can hit us hard without reason, warning or mercy. As solider we are trained to fight back, to continue moving forward, but there are fights that are out of our hands. Sometimes can be our fault, but for some reason sometimes is due two second and/or third person. In these cases when... you cannot fight alone you want the best team to your side capable to fight side by side, you need someone capable to see you not as a costumer “$$$$” but as an individual, as human, as a friend asking for help. Must Have

I needed a lawyer bad. Everyone in my unit told me that UCMJ and the command climate sucked but, "it is what it is". I needed a good lawyer. I had witnessed many service members loose out on everything (family, job, life, future) because of a lawyer the military provided or one that had to much of... a case load. Then I was blessed to be directed to Mr. Shoemaker. To tell you the truth I didn't know what to expect, I just understood that his fee was worth my life and future. With all the bad you hear and the things your family goes through during these times he was just what I needed. His military background and dedication to the job made me feel at ease. He and his staff went above and beyond to ensure that I was treated fairly. My case went from a command directed OTH, to a Medical Board. His knowledge of UCMJ, tact, and hard work on my case refreshed my opinion of lawyers doing their jobs because he went to the moon and back for my family and I. Highly Recommended

Military Representation

I had been notified by the military of a Boar do Inquires. This notification is to determine if I am able to stay in the military. My case is unique, I had 19 years and three months in service and I was short three months to avoid a Board of Inquires. I researched and called many attorneys, Steven fr...om Shewmanker & Shewmaker was the only attorney who returned my call. That conversation proved to me Steve’s knowledge of military proceedings; at that moment, I knew he would be the one to represent me. This by far was my best move, Steve and his staff was very professional, thorough in preparing for my case. Our first meeting identified the most influential witness for my case and I left his office confident and ready to take on this challenge for me and my family. During that time before my case Steve’s office notified me on several mediums to help in the preparedness of the Board of Inquires. The day of the Board Steve set the conditions for success, his performance, knowledge was evident during the trial, and in the end; it generated a decision to allow the board members to retain me for retirement. I know if I had gone any other route than Steve at Shewmaker & Shewmaker, it would have resulted in a negative result. Rarely have I seen the military attempt to do a more unfair thing. I was so happy that we were able to prevent the injustice they sought.

I couldn't be more pleased. A lawyer with a heart.

From the beginning of my case to the end, Steve was attentive, accurate and encouraging. The case that was presented to me was very much not in my favor and at first glance, it seemed the outcome would have been not a good situation. Steve helped me gather all the necessary pertinent information to f...orm a solid defense. His team was with me all the way through as well to answer the many questions that I had and prompted me for more discovery when needed. Long story short. We were able to settle the case after a long day of mediation to a very reasonable compromise. Steve was not just going through the motions, he cared and made a substantial difference in my case.
