Best of the best

Steve Shewmaker is flawless in the courtroom. He had complete control of the case from the beginning of the board. His preparation is incredible. His cross-examination of witnesses was better than Law and Order. He’s definitely on your side and working relentlessly on your behalf for the best outcome... in your case. He will fight for you, even when you think nothing is happening, things are happening behind the scenes. He ensured I was able to continue serving in uniform and keep my promotion. Totally recommend. Down to earth, empathetic and trustworthy.

Executive/Military divorce

If you’re retired military and/or a high income earning professional about to go through a divorce - You need to call Steve and Patty Shewmaker. I was hit with a surprise divorce after 20 years of marriage planned for months with her military and divorce lawyers. I was told to move out and begin p...aying $6,700 month in alimony by my wife’s lawyer. Steve stepped in and began fighting for me day one. It got very nasty, but Steve and Patty were there fighting for me every day. I stayed in my house - she left. Steve is always concerned about cost and offers best option in divorce to both parties. We fought for a year going to a final hearing. Steve is outstanding in court. After one day at final hearing, my ex-wife decided her lawyer was not up to the task of going against Steve in court. She received very small lump sum alimony, none of my military retirement, none of the 401K from my work, none of the company stocks, and only 50% equity in the martial home which I continue to live in. The two children we raised together live with me. If you have a military pension, you need call Steve and Patty to help protect it!

You are a good man with a really big heart. It is obvious how you care for those young men. I am sorry your case intersected with such obvious greed (the other attorney). BUT, you always behaved like the perfect Officer & Gentleman. You never broke the faith. You are on the good path.

Totally Changed My Negative Perception of Lawyers

After tirelessly searching for the right attorney to represent my brother, I found and hired Mr. Steven Shewmaker. I was blessed enough to find Mr. Shewmaker during a very stressful time in my family's life. Mr. Shewmaker represented my brother, but he did so much more than that. He was an outstandi...ng attorney, a knowledgeable military expert, a form of support and guidance for my brother, and a trusted confidant. I can honestly say that before Shewmaker, I had no trust in attorneys. After Shewmaker, I know that there are amazing attorneys that fight for their clients and deliver the results they promise. Mr. Shewmaker was always honest with us, letting us know what to expect in court, and preparing my brother for the chaos ahead. There's a reason why his rating is 100%. I pray that my family never needs his assistance again, but just in case we do, there's not another attorney that we will call other than Steven Shewmaker.

An expert in Military Law

Facing adverse action and a referred OER from a senior rater, Mr. Shewmaker zealously advocated to my command on my behalf. When there appeared to be an impasse, Mr. Shewmaker advocated to my specific branch and sought additional clarification of the regulation. He was truly my voice in what would ...have been a very stressful and prolonged process, and did everything he could to ensure that I would be able to continue my military career. The end result was removal of the OER from my record and a promotion through a special selection board. Without Mr. Shewmaker, I would be on my way out of the military.

Attorney Steve Shewmaker is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) concerning Military Law. I hired Mr. Shewmaker to review my Special Courts-Martial for errors and also to represent me for an Administrative Separation Board subsequently following a conviction of three charges from the aforementioned. I just ...have one statement. Steve Shewmaker is a miracle worker. Of course, Steve Shewmaker is not the Lord but "ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH HIM WITH THE HELP OF THE LORD's GUIDANCE". I know for a fact if Steve Shewmaker was my representing Defense Counsel for the Special Courts-Martial conviction that ultimately led to the Administrative Separation Board; the later would have not been on the table because I would have won at the Special Courts-Martial....PERIOD! Please, if I may offer any advice to you; no matter the cost for Mr. Shewmaker to represent you in a legal matter; pay up because it will be money well spent. I came out on top with everything that I requested.
