Do not use if CLASS ACTION!!

In 2004, Myself, and my 2 sons were evacuated at am by order of East Point Police because of a chemical spill in the air, and forced to stay with friend, that of which was a huge inconvenience, as well as the fear of the possible long term effects since both children have issues with respiratory, one... with Asthma, the other Acute Bronchitis. A few days later I was contacted by the company responsible and offered a settlement. As we played phone tag, I noticed trailers on my way to work set up with signs stating "East Point Chemical Spill Attorneys ". I entered, along with my employer, who is elderly and owns a home closer to the incident. We were offered the teams assistance and told to ignore offers of a settlement from company responsible, as the Orlando firm would promise at least $1,000. 00 per family member, and more to the Employer because he was Married, owns a home and Elderly. At first there were Birthday cards from the firm but after 5 years they stopped. I called to inquire and each year was given date for settlement, none of which panned out. After 2015 I had forgotten about it, as it was mute at this point, however, I received a package in May asking for Original copies of my children's birth certificates, social security card copies, address and school proof from 2004, as well as the same for me. After contacting the Orlando Firm, this being the 12th time over the years (Scott) to see if this was legitimate, and not an attempt at identity theft, I complied. I even had to go back to the power company of East Point to request utility bills from back then. The offer was now "at least $500.00 " and a promise of by September. Never happened. Another year (2016) and in early February I was concerned so I contacted the team of volunteers of Clark Howard, and was told to contact the Judge who settled. I did so in writing, explaining that my son is in College now receiving Student Aid, identity theft is a real issue, and these unknowns {processing Company} have all of my information but have it sitting around doing nothing with it. Employees come and go and the company they are using, as explained by Scott of the Orlando Firm, are a processing company, so to contact them directly. I have done so 3 times and this time it was a definitely by June answer. The receptionist also stated that I would just have to wait, as they are understaffed. WE are in July, No one has attempted to contact me via phone, email or otherwise. I have had the same phone and email for 5 years. Listen, folks, I do not expect to see one dime of this money, as I am sure it is probably spent , however, it is so unsettling to know that after maintaining and working on a good credit history, name for myself, and helping my son to build credit that a random stranger has all they need to victimize us , with no recourse. Had I known the Orlando Firm had no intentions of doing as they promised I would have settled with the Company responsible years ago. Thanks for listening

This is Roger Orlando. I served as Lead Counsel in this class action stemming from a 2004 release of a chemical (essentially vinegar) from an East Point chemical storage facility owned by a German company, Brenntag. This was a hard-fought litigation that exceeded 10 years of work with TWO trips to the Georgia Court of Appeals. Eventually I singly settled this case for $2,900,000.00. As a result, each adult received 150% more money than the chemical company had offered originally and each child received 500% more money than had they settled directly with Brenntag corporation. The trial Judge in Fulton County, Georgia approved this settlement without hesitation and commended my legal ability and the work I had performed for the thousands of residents effected. The "processing company" is the Court appointed Special Master in charge of organizing the community and assuring payment to 1. those who signed an attorney contract of representation with my Firm, and/or 2. those who resided in the 1.5 mile evacuation zone at the time of the release. I have no control over this firm in Birmingham, they are Court appointed. However, as ALWAYS is my practice, any client can contact me at any time and I will do my best to help. I can be reached DIRECTLY at 404-373-1800, extn. 222. Or I can be emailed at roger@OrlandoFirm.com. I am EXTREMELY proud of the work I did over the course of s decade for the people of East Point, Georgia and am sorry that you, individually, are having difficulty. Despite this negative and unfortunate review, I stand ready to help if you contact me.

Don't punt on first down

I don't know where to start. The original team of lawyers left/fired whatever I don't know. I was never ever informed about anything. I had to call the many people who worked on my case. Finally I was able to reach Roger Orlando. He said, give me thirty (30) days and we will get it settled. This... started early 2014 and ended 2018. He no longer wanted to speak with me after I let him know how disappointed I was with the handling of my case. He over extended himself with other cases and I was hung out to dry. He fumbled the ball every time on my case. His commercials in my opinion is very misleading. Choose this lawyer at your own risk.

I am sorry to see this disappointing review. I don’t know who this is (sometimes competition leaves negative reviews to make themselves appear better) so I don’t know what I can say. I will say that every new client is provided a “contact letter“ at the beginning of his or her case that details how to remain in touch with me to help assure ultimate satisfaction. Client service is my number one priority and I pledge myself to this goal each and every time someone trusts to hire me. If the individual leaving this review would kindly contact me, I will do my best to fix this situation and provide a complete understanding of what is happening. Roger W. Orlando
