Knowledgeable, compassionate, highly effective

I would highly recommend Mary Murray, her knowledge combined with her compassion for her job places her above her peers. She takes her responsibility to her client seriously. Mary is a very organized and her communication is prompt and effective. She took on my divorce when another attorney had not... been very effective. She researched my case prior to our first meeting where we discussed how she could effectively bring my case to a resolution. Kami her paralegal is organized, kind and stays on top of each case. I would highly recommend Ms. Murray.

Divorce is never easy

Divorce is never easy, and is usually avoided if all possible. I sought Mary out to handle my case, as it was not your typical divorce, very unprecedented in many ways. Mary is very knowledgeable , professional and most importantly caring & concerned about the individual she is serving. As expecte...d my divorce was not easy emotionally, but Mary & Kam (paralegal) took care of the legal end, so I could move toward healing and closure. They both were very organized and walked through each step, helping me to understand the process with as little stress as possible. I highly recommend Mary Murray !!!

Mary was great!!

Mary got the job done quickly. She negotiated well with the other side and kept the welfare of my kids as the priority. I would recommend Mary and would work with her again.

Mary has been a blessing to me

Mary was recommended to me by a friend who is a lawyer in a different field and I am so glad that I listened to her. Mary has truly taken a load off my shoulders. She is knowledgeable, professional, courteous and, even in the toughest situations, manages to put things into perspective and has a plan ...to deal with these. I've never seen her lose composure. Mary is tough but she doesn't waste time feeding bad feelings. She will not try to make you feel better by telling you what a victim you are, and to me that has made a huge difference because when you're talking about separating a family and there are children involved, there is already plenty of acrimony to begin with. I wanted to make sure I wouldn't end up with a lawyer who would fill me with hate. Having said that, Mary listened to everything I had to say, she has been more than understanding and empathetic, and I know that she believes me and is putting her energy in helping me get out of this tough position. I know she's got my back. Mary is brutally honest about what she sees and what she thinks, so be prepared for that. However, think about the alternative: would you rather hear it from your spouse's lawyer or, even worse... from a Judge? Anyway, she is usually a step ahead of the game, plays her cards wisely and - more importantly - she has good timing. About composure: Mary has her feet well planted and her head stays where it belongs. This was very important to me because I would not have been able to trust, and thus work with, somebody who would even remotely look to be at risk of losing control of herself. She has a tough skin, and that is contagious. For me, that's a big plus. Another big plus is that she is very down to earth and there is no fluff about her. She is comfortable in her own skin. A very confident woman. Mary's paralegal, Kami, is very professional, efficient, always available (unless she is in court or something like that but even then she will return your calls in a timely fashion), and she is very sweet. She will also give you a reality bath when needed but she is really a wonderful person to work with. I am so sorry to hear about the client who had a bad experience with Mary and Kami. Given my experience with them (and believe me, I've known them for two and a half years) I can't help but wonder what kind of a client she might have been. Cost: I think Mary's fees are very reasonable and she is open to help you structure your payments according to your situation.Note that she doesn't take American Express

Professional, Extremely Knowledgeable, and Extraordinarily Patient

Mary exceeded my expectations in every way. I loved that we were able to meet first and talk about things to see if our personalities were going to work together. Going through the stressful, somewhat heart-breaking process of divorce, it is critical to hire someone who will stand behind you regardl...ess of what the other party may bring up during the entire process. I had interviewed two other attorneys before finding Mary. It became apparent within our first conversation that I had come to the right practice. She was straight forward from our first meeting, honest, and clearly not interested in having me as a client just to make money. She was completely thorough and explained every possibility to me as we walked through this very challenging chapter of my life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her, either as an attorney or a mediator. Charleston is a very small town littered with unethical attorneys. Using someone who had experience in other areas of the country was paramount to me. Back stabbing among professionals is a common, and sadly accepted, practice in this area. Ms. Murray clearly was not interested in the small town politics as most of the local lawyers, and politicians are.
