Best choice we could have made

Totally clueless, never having to deal with any type of criminal charges, it was extremely agonizing trying to help my son in making the right decision on finding an attorney to represent him in his DUI case. After spending countless hours searching the Internet, and reading reviews, we hired Matt Ma...rin. He was extremely quick to respond and very accessible when you had a question. He was very knowledgeable and professional. In fact, it seemed that other attorneys sought his advice in the court room. We have all the confidence in his abilities and trust him and his advice. Hopefully we will never need his services in the future, but if we did, there would be no question that we would go back to Matt Marin.

Marin is a professional, effective attorney

I would recommend Matthew Marin to friends and family, and I keep his number in case I ever need to call him again. Throughout my courtroom proceedings, I observed that other attorneys often seemed to be too slick for their own client’s good. However, in the courtroom, Matt comes off like he’s a h...ard-working, son-of-Providence type, who cares about the law as much as judges do—he had the best rapport with the courtroom staff of anyone I saw in any of the courtrooms—and the judges seemed visibly pleased by the merits of his arguments or by their mutual frustration with badly-written law. Additionally, the prosecutors seemed to appreciate his work ethic and understanding of the law as well. Thus, I believe that judges and prosecutors immediately perceive the merit of Mr. Marin’s arguments as credible, reasonable, and without cynicism—from the start. Multiple police reports reported that I had performed terribly on several field sobriety tests immediately after driving, and then subsequently, according to their reports, these police determined that I refused a chemical test. The police also claimed I had gotten into an accident and badly damaged my car. However, the car's damage happened to it previously. I contacted a couple attorneys after these events and went with Mr. Marin because I perceived him to be a hard-working attorney. Another attorney had a messy office, seemed too slick, and was already proposing plea-bargaining with me—without hearing my story in which I felt that I was innocent of these charges. In my case, Matt made no promises throughout the process, but ultimately won for me what we both agreed was the best case scenario without going to trial: I was up against a criminal DUI charge, which was dismissed. Matt was willing to go to trial to fight to have me acquitted, but we both agreed that it wasn’t worth it, for me, to have a trial that could potentially take more than a year (because of our particular argument being a badly-written law) and open me up for the criminal charge in which multiple police officers would have been presented as witnesses against me. The risk to my otherwise clean record was too great. So, with my agreement, I accepted the refusal charge in a traffic tribunal and thereby, mandatorily by law, lost my license for six months, 35 hours community service, DUI school, and around $1,000 in fines. However, this agreement effectively cleared me of the criminal DUI charge. Thus, I still have a clean criminal record. Mr. Marin also successfully argued for all records of the case to be sealed and all police records to be ordered destroyed.

Recommend 100%

I highly recommend hiring Matthew Marin as your lawyer. Everything was handled in a timely and professional manner. I had two domestic charges and my DUI charge (criminal) dismissed by pleading guilty to refusing to take a chemical test (civil) which resulted in the minimal penalty. I had the best po...ssible outcome I could have without having to go to trial and I am in the process of having this expunged. I am extremely happy with my results!

DUI 1st Offense

I was arrested under suspicion of DUI a few months ago. After meeting with Matt he was able to work a deal with the prosecutors to allow me to plead guilty to a lesser civil charge. The criminal DUI charge was dismissed and expunged from my record. Matt was excellent walking through every step of the... process. He does a thorough job reviewing the case files and speaking with prosecutors to come to the best possible resolution.

Exemplary Work

I met Matthew in his offices to discuss my options in facing a DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Breathalyzer charges. He kept me calm and reassured throughout, and gave me a thorough list of my options. He was professional, spelled everything out clearly, and his rate for taking my case was quite reaso...nable and covered all his work from start to finish. I hired him on the spot, and everything proceeded exactly as he planned. The end result was favorable to me in every way, including an eventual full expungement of my criminal record. Matthew knows his way through the system, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
