I hired Mr. Britt in 2010 after my estranged husband had managed to get a restraining order saying I could not contact my then 3 year old daughter for two weeks after he had assaulted me. It was a nightmare I could not wake from. My ex went to the magistrate and swore out a warrant saying I had ...assaulted him and I had to turn myself in. Normally there is a 48 hour hold on domestic assault. Mr. Britt spoke with the A.D.A and I was in custody a total of 47 minutes. When Mr. Britt was threated by my then mother-in-law in the courthouse, he stood his ground with out lowering himself to that level. He returned every phone call, even if it was after hours. He helped me to stay calm and realize it was the end result that mattered. He told me it would be okay and it was. The district attorneys office dropped the charges my ex had taken out on me. After Mr. Britt spoke to my ex's attorney I was given primary custody of my daughter. I now have full custody and my ex has supervised visitation. I have hired Mr. Britt again to finalize my divorce and change the custody order. He always asks me if I am safe, he shows compassion and caring. My daughter likes him and that speaks volumes. When I was unable to go to the courthouse to get a copy of the custody order in December of 2014 and my ex was threatening to take my daughter, Mr. Britt went and obtained a copy for me. He brought it to my place of employment, sat down and spoke to me, and made me feel like there was someone who understood. I will be forever grateful to Mr. Britt for everything he has done for my daughter and myself. He got me in touch with the women's center in Jacksonville and I don't know if he even realizes what a huge impact that had on my life and my daughter's life. My daughter has a healthy, loving and most importantly safe, home now. I would recommend Mr. Britt to anyone who needs a compassionate family practice attorney. He is not only a great attorney, but an amazing person as well.
