I had a family member charged with DWI in 2017. After speaking with several life long residents of Union County they all said to go see John Painter if you want the best. At the consultation Mr. Painter took time to carefully review all the paperwork we had and saw numerous things that he questioned ...about the way the stop was handled. After hiring him, his office kept us informed of what he was doing and all we had to do was show up to court. He had the case continued many times until he had all the information he needed to appear before the Judge. After questioning the legality of the stop and presenting his case, the Judge agreed with him and the case was thrown out. He had other things in question just in case so he did not go in with just one argument. Very professional. Worth every penny of his fee. As I was told, if you want the Best in Union County go see John Painter.

Between the ages of 18 and 21 I just couldn't seem to learn my lesson. John will fight for you tooth and nail! Worth every penny for his services and I wouldn't trust another lawyer to take care of me. Recently he got my DUI dropped and speeding ticket reduced. My dwi case was just dismissed. Hey it takes a while John isn't going to do what public defenders do and plead you guilty and then just try and get you the minimum sentence. He works to make sure the cops are on the up and up and this one violated several protocols. It took almost a year and a h...alf but he's worth the money. Insurance alone would have cost more than he charged. If your in union county and get stopped for as much as jaywalking I would hire John!!!

Having been a sworn law enforcement officer for almost 17 years prior to a disability injury, I found myself in need of a quality, intelligent, overly competent, experienced, honest, trust worthy, and frankly the best trial lawyer around. I know well beyond on a reasonable doubt and after being on the stand and cross examined by John Painter many times that he represented his clients with fierce fervor, dedication, commitment, and always with the best interest of his clients in mind. I say all this as both a private citizen and a prior 17 year law enforcement officer. Moreover, I also know that every law enforcement officer holds John Pinter in high regard and carries a healthy deserved respect for him as a person and lawyer. Many officers may not like me saying this, however I personally and professionally know that all officers have a healthy fear of him trying their cases. John Painter is highly educated in the law, to a degree well beyond the average lawyer. I can't state it enough that he is the best trail lawyer around. Again, during my career I was field training officer for all new officers. I also had a section of instruction and discussion on how to prepare case files, evidence collection, chain of custody, completeness and accuracy in report writing and note taking, and simply doing things the right way. And I always referred to prior cases I had with John Painter as well cases I observed that other officers had with John Painter. Simply put, John Painter is the most qualified, educated, experienced, honest lawyer I am aware of. Yes there are other great lawyers in Union County all of whom I also know personally and professionally. With that being said I highly recommend John Painter if you find yourself in need of the best lawyer, and once again this comes from both being a client of John Painter and also a 17 year career as law enforcement officer. So I feel I have an insight as to John Painter's ability, experience, honesty, and education representing clients and especially trial law. You will not be disappointed, unless you decide not to at least consult with John Painter. My husband got a DWI back in 2013 but I didn't know about this web site to read a review him, first. Sheriff recommended this lawyer and we decided to go with him. He was always saying 'don't worry, I'll do this and I'll do that'. He was postponing court dates like he was picking a judge he wanted to... have trial with. And when the final court date came, he wouldn't even stand up to say a word to at least get his license back, at least for a privileged driving. Since he needed his driving license for his work. J. Painter charged $3,5 k for nothing, for trips to court. My husband got a "full house" of charges for his first DWI in his life without having any other felonies before. I thought attorneys are meant to protect when you hire them to do so, but not to plead you guilty. Will never recommend this attorney to anybody... i regret I found out about this website so late...
