I was referred to Will Owens by another attorney, which I should have known better. Will seemed very good at the beginning. I had a car accident, was rear ended. I had been to another attorney who was terrible. He refused to give me my files unless I signed a paper giving him money from the accident.... Will had all of the files, pictures, etc. I met with him many times. He said I had a great case. The girl that hit me was on her phone, hit me going about 40 mph, I was stopped for a red light. I did not go to the ER right away because I had my 2 dogs in my car and they wanted to take them to the Wake County Shelter. I had no one to take the dogs or come get me. I could not get a rental car either. Will said he was going to sue my insurance as well as the other insurance, he did not do this. I never got my rental car money back, I lost over 100k dollars. Will was terrible at returning phone calls. I kept having health issues from the accident. Mediation was terrible. Will told me to make a list of all my medical bills and expenses which I did. In court he failed to submit even half of what I had lost. I had to pay back my insurance, which I could not afford to pay back over 100k in medical bills. During the trial Will did not even pay attention, I was the one that had to object to the other attorneys questions. The judge had to ask Will if he wanted to object, Will did not even know what the question was. I saw the video tape for the first time in court of Will's interview with my doctor, what a joke. Will was nervous, he was shaking and sweating when asking questions and during closing, he kept repeating himself. Will refused to bring up any background on the girl that hit me because she had rear-ended 3 people recently. He let the opposing attorney has me all sorts of background questions, my driving records, my previous accidents, etc. which I had no tickets, no accidents, one fender bender that was not my fault. Will did not even know that there had been a revised accident report by the police. It was still in a tube that he brought to court, but had never seen it. Will refused to appeal. I lost everything. Will is one of the worst attorneys I have ever dealt with. He would not even return my phone calls after the trial. I would give him a zero star if possible. He refused to use evidence that would have showed the girl was totally at fault, was on her phone. My car should have been totaled, I had to get rid of it because it would not stay in alignment, it leaked water, etc. I was scared to drive it because it would cut off on me. He said I had to keep the car, which I told him I was scared to drive it. He said if I traded the car, it would hurt the case. He refused to use all of the pictures from the accident. I never to anything for the rental car, my medical bills, my new car, expenses, etc. I ended with a check for 5k dollars which did not even cover my 100k in medical bills. Will had to negotiate with my insurance company and I paid them 2k dollars. Will got nothing and neither did the former attorney. He emailed me this ridiculous reasons for what he did, which was pure nonsense after the trial. He refused to call me or return my phone calls after the trial.
