This review is long overdue- Attorney Monte Kuligowski represented me in absentia back in the fall of 2013; it is now 2015, and I, today, feel guilty and disrespectful for not already giving this man a glowing review for his crucial help in my case. For those of you who are in a testy predicament and... are facing a reckless driving charge, please hire this man to represent you in court. As a New Yorker, like all other residents in the Northeastern Seaboard, I never viewed traffic offenses - at least most of them- seriously; however, in the state of Virginia, the law is much more stringent and they will punish you for traffic offenses that are considered relatively minor or trivial in other parts of the nation.
To paint a more holistic picture of Mr. Kuligowski, let me explain to you the specifics of my story:
After driving for over ten hours all the way from New York, I was pulled over in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge -Tunnel. To my surprise - and dismay - I was charged with reckless driving for doing 84 mph in a 55mph. I was not intentionally driving at that speed; as a local resident understandingly mentioned to me after I angrily explained to him the details of my offense, "when the sun is shining and you're drifting by that beautiful water and stunning scenery, you feel like a million bucks and aren't really paying attention to that speedometer." Indeed, that is what happened to me as I nonchalantly drifted through this mesmerizing bridge. Nevertheless, don't let the magnificence of its structure deceive you; it is merciless speed trap that captures thousands of unsuspecting (and actually reckless) drivers yearly. The cops there won't hesitate to pounce and hand you a speeding ticket if you are above the limit.
Prior to this offense, I never committed a single traffic violation - not even a simple parking infraction. Moreover, I was an A+ honor roll student enrolled at a primer university- I was an ordinary citizen with good standing and no prior record. Nevertheless, for a simple, albeit somewhat serious traffic ticket, I was not only being handed a hefty fine, but a summons in court. I would be tried like a criminal, and, if found guilty, I'd be punished with a Class 1 misdemeanor. For the normal law-abiding citizen who has never done anything wrong in their life, that's daunting and worrying. That sort of blemish on your record can have serious consequences. Although its not a felony, that sort of a misdemeanor can function as an ignominious badge of shame that limits future opportunities for enrollment in graduate schools and jobs. Obviously concerned, I did some research and stumbled upon Mr. Kuligowski's name and decided to hire him after much deliberation. Retrospectively, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Although I was initially found guilty by the judge, who was probably subject to the whims of his daily moods, Mr. Kuligowski put forth an unrelenting and concerted effort to get the decision reversed, which he ultimately accomplished. Mr. Kuligowski embodies everything a true professional should be - someone who is not solely concerned with money, but a devoted individual who puts forth his best effort, genuinely cares for his clientele, and has a firm grasp of justice. He takes pride in his work - that's the type of man or woman you want representing you when the going gets tough in the courtroom. God Bless you Mr. Kuligowski - although a traffic offense is minor in scope, it could've had life-altering ramifications that could have influenced the trajectory of my life in some unfavorable way. This review is not just a genuine thank-you note, but a plea to the unsettled individual who is seeking the services of an attorney to represent them to choose you. Rest assured, if you pick Mr. Kuligowski, you will be in the best hands. There is nobody who has more savvy and potential than Mr. Kuligowski. He is a godsend- undoubtedly the best in the region.
