I got a very high speeding ticket in Hopewell Virginia on my way to Florida. I didn't realize I was going 86 in a 70 mile an hour road but the ticket I got was written for reckless driving whivh is a big deal there. I was unable to go back for the court date and was going to pay the ticket which is... an admission of guilt. The maximum fine was up to a year in jail, $2500. And up to 6points on my license. This all varies depending on the amount of speed you were going. I was trying to get off for gas and get my elderly aunt to the bathroom. I didnt know I was going that fast ad I was keeping up with the traffic. I had a clean driving record up to now. I couldnt afford for my insurance rates to get higher or possibly be dropped from the policy snd have a criminal record. There fees were great and they appeared in court for me and was able to get the ticket changed back to a lower traffic situation so I will only get one or two points no permanent record and I have 30 days from my court date to pay the lower ticket amount plus court fees.
