I chose Marina instead because she actually had a strategy for getting the charge dropped in a best case scenario or, ...if that didn't work, modified to a different type of offense that would permit the original charge to be expunged, which was very important to me. She viewed accepting the first-time offender's program, which was being pushed by the other attorney, as a worst case outcome since accepting that arrangement would mean the charge could not be expunged. Marina recommended completing the community service and class requirements for the first-time offender's program in advance of the court date, which would strengthen her argument that the case shouldn't be prosecuted.
