Reckless Driving charge dismissed

Marina took my charge of reckless driving that was committed in broad daylight on a federally owned parkway. I was looking at possibly serving up to 6 months in jail. She was able to convince the federal prosecutor to drop the charges and I ended up pleasing guilty to a lesser charge of driving on gr...ass for which the fine was $30. Worth every penny. Her preparation, planning, and working behind the scenes before the trial date paid off in my dismissal. Absolutely endorse her skills and recommend her for all types of criminal defense.

Excellent service!

Marina Medvin is an excellent, well prepared, thoughtful and thorough attorney. She represented me on a DWI charge and prior to my court date she answered all of my questions, she communicated with me regularly, she made it very clear what was going to happen and what I could expect. She was able to ...get my case dismissed so I am more than satisfied. I watched another DWI case prior to my case being called, and she was head and shoulders a much better attorney than that defense lawyer and the prosecutor. I highly recommend her services; it was well worth the money.

Apathetic

Hired attorney I had received a DUI on Pentagon grounds late last year and hired Marina Medvin based on the really positive reviews on this website and other websites. I hired her and sent her my police report, but never saw her until the actual court date, which is fine enough. I received 2 days ...jail time, a restricted license and probation for a year, 40 hours community service, and a mandatory alcohol education class from the Federal court in the great state of Virginia. The real problems came up afterwards. I get it, my case was closed and she got her $5000 fee so she didn't care anymore, but considering there were related problems afterwards to my court order, with one MAJOR issue where she was completely wrong, I felt she could have at least made an effort to correct her own mistake. The first problem was that my jail time fell on the Friday and Saturday in January when we had the major blizzard. My jail sentence was on the eastern shore of Maryland, about 60 miles from home across the Bay Bridge, and with the snow I was seeing if I could get my jail date postponed. I called the jail and the courthouse, and they both told me that the best thing to do would be to call my lawyer and ask her to request the sentencing the judge for a postponement. I called her with no response, and her response to my email was that she wasn't involved in this and that I should ask my PO. OK whatever, so instead of dealing with the headache of being led around in circles, I just decided to drive through the blizzard Friday night to jail, and drive back home Saturday night in the blizzard. The second thing that happened is what really led to this review and her rating. Although I was pulled over in VA, my driver's license and state of residence is MD. She ASSURED me that the Federal order for the restricted driver's license could not be enforced, and that the VA DMV would not be involved since I was pulled over in federal property and I had a Maryland driver's license. To my shock and surprise, I received a letter from the VA DMV informing me that 1) my license was suspended, 2)I had to complete a VA alcohol class ($400), 3)I had to submit a special certification of insurance for DUI drivers, and 4) I had to pay a $220 reinstatement fee. This was a huge psychological blow to me, because the one comfort I had with going to jail was that the end was in sight. All I had to do afterwards was complete 40 hours of community service, and any Maryland alcohol class, even an online one (per my Federal PO). But with this letter I felt like I was being dragged back down. I emailed Marina about this, and her response was that she had never seen this happen before, and IF I WAS SURE THAT I HAD A MARYLAND DRIVERS LICENSE. Yes, I'm sure what state I live in and drive in, thanks. Other than that, she had nothing else to say, just that I should call the DMV and ask if it was a mistake. I called them, and no it was not a mistake. When I told her this, she said it wasn't that bad because I had to take the alcohol class anyway, and all I could do was keep talking to the DMV, but that she didn't know what else to do because she doesn't deal with the DMV. And that was it; she did not offer to help in any other way, or try to help correct this blaring mistake that she had made.

Absolutely Excellent Service

Marina was without a doubt worth every single penny. First of all, she was very prompt. She always got back to me personally via cell phone or e-mail within a reasonable amount of time. She was also very easy to reach directly. There was never a paralegal or subordinate to reach in between, it wa...s always her who answered my e-mails and picked up my calls. Second, she did an excellent job breaking my case down and explaining what she was going to try to do to achieve the best possible outcome. She also kept me informed on what the different outcomes could be and what I should do to prepare for them. Third, she was very organized and persistent. She showed me all her notes and the research she did for my case. I could tell she put in relentless effort into parsing out the Virginia code out and using it with the police report and evidence presented in my case. In the end she got my first offense DUI case dismissed on a Constitutional law violation, which was virtually the best possible outcome. And as a side note, she is very passionate about her job and does it with a smile. Before my case came up on the docket, she would excitedly explain what was going on with the other cases, and what she thought about them. I could tell she loved her job and genuinely cared about all her clients. 5 stars and 100% recommend her to represent anybody.

Reckless 90/55 reduce to regular speeding 85/55

Marina makes use of technology to make the client -attorney process easy, transparent and efficient. Regarding her attorney services, it was the easiest in court experience i've ever encountered. Most of you reading this review have probably been to court once before and know how stressful and confus...ing traffic court can be. I showed up, gave her required documentation she need to argue my case directly with the office and county prosecutor, she was able to negotiate and settle with the prosecutor a lesser penalty that reduce my infraction from reckless (higher fines, jail time) to regular speeding 80/55 ($250 and no jail time or higher fines). Would highly recommend Marina if you want someone who knows how to negotiate for you and counsel you for the best results. Highly recommend Marina.
