I selected Mr. Maher based upon his reviews and am certainly glad I did. My case involved an accident with injuries in the early afternoon with a high BAC. This was also not my first offense and in the strictest county in MD (Harford). Mr. Maher is the type of person that gives it to you straight and... doesn't sugar coat anything but he does it without talking down to you or with any form of contempt. You just get the feeling of compassion from him all the while he is telling you it's not going to be easy. As an attorney, he leaves no stone unturned and stays until the job is done. He has called me at all times of the day, to include late evenings and goes the extra mile to get the entire picture of your situation. He is very diligent in note keeping and has the ability to recall the smallest of details if the argument requires interjection. In the end, he argued my circumstances so effectively that the States Attorney's proposal was reduced 75% and everything financially that could be waived was done so. Everything that could be hoped for was granted; deferred detention, my choice of work release or weekends, no community service etc. His skill in arguing is summed up in the judges comment that "I had the most articulate attorney there is". His experience alone would be enough but he is by far better than someone who has simply been there and done that. My advice; retain this attorney for your case, listen to him with the understanding you are in the position to need him because of your choices and do what he says to prepare.

One of the best attorneys you can obtain! I was looking in the Baltimore area for a lawyer to help represent me for a 3 point traffic citation I received. I was charged with a DUI and a DWI. I found Mr. Maher on this site. I went to his office he made me feel so comfortable and I have bad anxiety with new settings and people but through the whole process he put my mind at ease and is very intelligent with the laws and is also very thorough with your ca...se. I really should of gotten the worse punishment because I blew a .24 but with Mr. Mahers help I got 18 months supervised probation and nothing else. He is really amazing and is affordable. I was pulled over for a speeding violation in May of 2014 and in the process was charged with a DWI @ a 0.07. It was a borderline case, but most lawyers out there would tell you to "Just take the PBJ, you'll probably get unsupervised probation" and then collect a fee for "walking you through" the pr...ocess. Not Pat. After conducting an in-depth interview, Pat explained that this is a very defensible case and that we should absolutely go for an acquittal rather than just the "get you off" quickie path of a PBJ. He advised on proactive actions to take before the court date to maximize a beneficial (unsupervised) outcome should we lose the case. I highly advise anyone to heed this advice as other defendants didn't seem to get the same and were dealt much harsher penalties than the few that did. But, luckily this was all unnecessary. After 3 delays, once at our request because of an unfavorable judge & mistaken identity and TWICE because the State couldn't get their act together, we had the trial. Once the State's Attorney was done with the police officer, who was quite "Gung Ho" I might add, Pat methodically picked apart their case line by line, pulling out official procedures & statutes that both the officer and even the State's Attorney were ignorant of. The Judge without hesitation said "not guilty" as soon as Pat finished presenting his case. Even the speeding ticket ended up as a PBJ. I can't recommend Pat enough if you find yourself in a similar situation.

Patrick Maher is the real deal! Today was my day in court…I was nervous. But, I had listened and prepared for court in every way suggested by Mr. Maher, or Pat as he prefers. He was prepared too and I was delighted to walk away from multiple tickets (holiday weekend DWI) and fines with a not guilty f...or all except a minor traffic ticket. As others have posted, he is a down to earth person that listens to the details of your case. He answered all my questions, emails, and phone calls.
