I applied for an adjustment of status, based on the DV lottery. I came to US as a F1 student, and won the DV Lottery. My case number was high, and I was only able to apply starting in August, when the deadline was September 30th. In just two months, I had to prepare all the documents, pay the applica...tion fees, get the receipts, submit the documents, get an appointment to get fingerprinted, actually get fingerprinted, get an appointment for an interview, and have the interview. Not to mention that all communication to the USCIS and Kentucky Embassy were via mail (hint, that's slow!). All of that in less than two months! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, read online and you'll find out that it takes people several months, up to two years to get all of this done!)
