Erin Kopelman was my attorney for two different custody issues - one when we did not have an agreement in our divorce and needed to manage changed circumstances, and one when I planned a move and needed to negotiate changes in custody related to the move. Erin is a brilliant and skilled attorney. She... knows the laws well and successfully navigated both cases for me in a way that protected my children’s interests. Erin is on top of it, to say the least. She is professional and poised to successfully - in my case - finalize my divorce in the manner best for me, her client. Her client takes top priority which I greatly appreciated. Erin communicates clearly and concisely which makes her efficient and effective. ...Some of these reviews quote high fees, yes I agree Erin wasn't on the very economical side, but you get what you pay for. I'd rather have a damn good attorny who knows what she is talking about than one who isn't on her game.

While it is true that no one likes going through a divorce, a good attorney should listen attentively, advise wisely, and try not to sock their client financially - and compassion/empathy is also important. I experienced none of these things with Ms. Kopelman. Zero compassion. Zero attention to the f...acts of my case. Zero coherence in explaining options. Instead, I felt like I was treated like a cash register - a number, not a client. My case drug on and on and I went further into debt.

Working with Erin was a very painful experience. She spent a lot of her time talking about big money cases and clients, rather than caring/focusing on my relatively simple case. Her billing practices are ridiculous - she seemed to take every opportunity to charge, and when questioned could not explai...n the charges. Encouraged me to say things that were untrue as "an advantage" in my case. Encouraged me to demand things I really didn't want - I guess in order to prolong the case so she could charge. I just wanted a divorce. I didn't want to ruin my husband. I didn't want to poison our relationship as friends/parents. I would encourage others to steer clear of her.
