The Very Best

I have worked with many attorneys since my separation and divorce, ten years now. Most recently, I had a different lawyer for a modification that Carlos could not assume because he moved to a new firm, where my ex had been a client. I really missed Carlos' absolute excellence and strategy. Carlos ...will defend YOU and what you are looking to obtain. He will not play judge (which is something many lawyers do, to lower their clients expectations). Carlos is a magnificent lawyer and has the skills to get you as far as you can go, within the context of your own case and circumstance.

Exceptional divorce attorney

I engaged two other lawyers before I found Carlos Lastra, and I am so thankful that I made the change. Mine was a complicated divorce, with an uncooperative, volatile and verbally abusive spouse, and Carlos put a lot of thought into strategy, while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to the constan...tly changing events as they unfolded. He was compassionate in working with me, and I could tell that he truly cared about me and fought hard to get me the best possible outcome. He also did an excellent job preparing me and my witnesses for our testimony and had full command of the case in the courtroom. His knowledge, experience, hard work, and strategy ultimately paid off and he was successful in obtaining the best possible results for me. I cannot endorse Carlos highly enough; he is truly an exceptional attorney.

An Oustanding Family Law Attorney

Divorce is never easy. In Maryland, the process is extraordinarily complex and difficult, particularly when it is contested and the other party challenges almost every legal point. In my case, I did my homework and requested Carlos' representation. It was one of the smartest decisions I ever made. ...Carlos' thoroughness, attention to detail, and comportment in court was simply outstanding. I felt totally prepared and represented in every situation that the process and the Maryland legal system demanded. There is no question that Carlos' abilities and talents are top notch. But he wins cases because of his compassion, his preparation, and his understanding of his client's needs and situation. I would have no other attorney.

Knowledgeable, Approachable, and Good Sense of Humor

Carlos helped me a great deal as I was going through a divorce at later stage in my life. Being so knowledgeable about divorce law in Maryland helped me understand my legal rights and what my options were to either mediate, settle, or go to court. The best thing about Carlos was his emphasis on pre...paration from day one, especially my financials. We continuously strategized about different options which helped me a great deal since simultaneously I was going through mediation with my former wife. I was not very hopeful that mediation would happen so I always kept Carlos as my backup option. To my surprise, I was able to mediate in large part to the fact that Carlos gave me a sense of confidence and knowledge that allowed me to take some strong positions during the mediation process. I highly recommend Carlos not only because he is a great lawyer but because he is very approachable and has a good sense of humor, something that you need as you are going through a life crisis. If it had not been for him, I seriously doubt that I would have been able to develop strong arguments to agree on a mediation in my best interests.
