OUTSTANDING REPRESENTATION

On January 20, 2011, I attended a court proceeding at Maryland District Court in Silver Spring, Maryland. I was impressed with the way Mr. Carlos M. Lastro, attorney for the plaintiff, approached the case in court. His courtroom demeanor and professionalism was impeccable. Mr. Lastro gathered and... presented lots of information and evidence in which to make informed decisions. He approached the defendant and the defendant’s witness in such a quiet, professional, and respectful way that brought out the truth in this case. It was clear to me, as part of the audience, that the client benefitted from Mr. Lastro’s good, honest, and loyal advice. To that end, he proved his case very early in the proceedings. Therefore, I would highly recommend him for future cases involving child domestic issues such as custody and divorce.

The Panther!

The Panther! Carlos Lastra is like the elegant black panther. He quietly stalks and then ambushes his prey finally delivering a fatal bite to the brain. My first contact with Mr. Lastra was when I realized I was getting divorced. I came into the process understanding very little about it, and... scared of what lay ahead. Mr. Lastra quickly gave me the confidence I needed to do what was required. His professionalism, hard work and attention to detail was just what was needed to achieve the results I wanted. I don’t know if my case was the “norm” or more difficult or not, but Mr. Lastra handled each new complicated situation quickly and accurately. Mr. Lastra never lost his composure, even when threatened by my spouse directly. For several years after, we were forced to go to court to get my ex spouse to comply with court orders. In the courtroom, Mr. Lastra was able to creatively question my ex spouse to catch fabrications, and argued my case thoughtfully and carefully in front of judges and Masters. Each time, Mr. Lastra prevailed and accomplished the results essential for my future. Many years later, I find myself turning to Mr. Lastra once again to get my ex spouse to comply with court orders. Even though I am not looking forward to going to court once more, I am sure that once again, we will work as a team to accomplish our goal. Mr. Lastra explains what is reasonable and what to expect, and fights for your rights. When it comes to protecting your future, Mr. Lastra is the lawyer to have in your corner!

Attention to detail and a ruthless pursuit of the truth was something taught to me by my mentors -- some of the greatest trial lawyers and judges to ever step into a courtroom -- at a young age. Thank you for appreciating that again and again.

Divorce Client

Mr Lastra is a very fine, honest and trustworthy lawyer. He was the third attorney that handled my divorce and was able to finalize it. It took about 4 years and I thought it will never end! Mr. Lastra was finally able to bring it to a close. He is extremely professional and courteous. He does not... give you any false illusions. He lets you know ahead of time what your rights are, what he can do for you and what he cannot. He is very knowledgeable of the law and prepares the case extremely well. If you need to contact him, he is easily accessible and returns your calls in a timely manner.You feel very safe that he is representing you. My divorce was a very frustrating experience due to the unreasonableness of my x husband. However i enjoyed tremendously working with Mr. Lastra due to his fine personality, integrity and sense of humor. I highly recommend Carlos Lastra.

Not every lawyer is right for every client. You need to make sure you have the right attorney for your case. Once you have that, you need the right plan -- presented to you truthfully and objectively -- no BS. With the right plan, and the right lawyer, things should move in the right direction. Excellence

I hired Carlos Lastra for a Appeal of a Protective Order. Spoke to some of the best lawyers in Montgomery County, Md that practice Domestic law. I'd gotten a half dozen or so referrals from various people in the legal field, Carlos Lastras name was one that kept coming up. I called and set appoint...ment wondering if I would be dealing with another high priced attorney that's either too busy to get facts straight or would want to defer me to their jr. associate. After meeting with Mr. Lastra, I knew I had found the best lawyer for my case, he was very informative and practical. He gave me straight forward answers to my questions and addressed all my concerns with out trying too browbeat me with legal jargon. As it was getting closer to my trail, I felt more assured and confident in my choice of retaining Mr. Lastra. I was kept in the loop through out, always answered my emails in a timely fashion and his team was always very courteous and helpful, but I was most impressed with Mr Lastras court performance, second to none. Was well prepared took complete control of the court room with the utmost of professionalism, the odds were against us, cause I had lost in the lower court but with determination and skill we were VICTORIOUS... needless to say I was extremely pleased. I had experienced a GREAT burden in those three months leading up to my day court and because of Mr. Lastras expertise i have been completely vindicated. immensely grateful. So in conclusion if your seeking sound professional legal representation Carlos Lastra and his staff hands down are the best.

Great Lawyer!

Mr Lastra is a great lawyer to work with. He is professional, knowledgeable, and well-versed but more than that he was able to really listen to my concerns and try to accommodate. Mr. Lastra represented me in a case to invalidate an unjust Shariah law arbitration award. Mr Lastra was involved in ever...y step of the way and would always educate me on the different options available and their pros and cons. His workmanship really came through as he handled the intersectionality of my complicated case. He was able to present to the judge how the award was both legally faulty and even faulty by Shariah law standards. Although the outcome was not the ideal one - considering how difficult it is to invalidate an arbitration award - his ability to invalidate it on the important issue was commendable. I would recommend Mr. Lastra to others seeking legal help with issues pertaining to family law (divorce, custody, arbitration, etc) and issues with the application of Shariah law.

Too many individuals agree to arbitrate without really understanding the significant rights they are giving away and how much power the arbitrator will have ultimately. Trying to invalidate an unjust and unfair arbitration is not easy. So glad we were able to do so here.
