Cohabitation- recoupment of Alimony paid

Mr. Lastra provided sound legal advice that far exceed my expectations. He ligated a complicated 9 day cohabitation case that involved recoupment of alimony. The judgment was award in our favor an amount that exceed the amount requested due to the strong and compelling case Mr. Lastra presented to ...the court. The case had many complex issues, including ESI (Electronic Stored Information) which Mr. Lastra navigated with confidence. He had a strong, commanding presence in the court room. His knowledge of the law was impressive, stating cases from memory that were extremely important to the matter at hand. It was not uncommon for Mr. Lastra to spend 10 hours in court, and then proceed to work past midnight preparing for the next day of trial. Lastra was responsive, always returning my calls and emails. He consulted with me and I always felt that he had my best interest at the forefront of actions he pursued. I cannot imagine another attorney representing me for any legal matter in the future other than Mr. Lastra.

9 days of trial handling complicated digital forensic evidence (ESI) demanded long days and hard work. I am so pleased we were able to persuade the Judge to give us access to the alimony recipient's phone, lap top and computer -- and secure that damning evidence. Thank you Dick for working through this with me and securing the result of a lifetime -- including the first time that a Judge has directed in our state that alimony paid in violation of a cohabitation clause be returned to the payor.

Professional, knowledged, experienced.

Carlos is everything he is depicted as in all rating and reviews, my experience but proving them all to be true. Hoping to avoid the extent of a full blown trial I started with what I read to be the best and most aggressive lawyer I could find. I put my sons life in Carlos' hands trusting he will gui...de me through the process in order to win full custody of my son, which thankfully we did. I am every so grateful to Carlos for having given me his full respect and attention in spite my young age. I felt always prepared and well rehearsed for every court appearance and he was timely in keeping me informed throughout. He is noticeably respected in the courtroom, holds professional relations with judges and masters and appears to be well known in the legal community. His professionalism and extensive knowledge of the law are more than reassuring. I felt confident in his representation and his ability to convey, then award me the custody I was seeking. Granted, rates are high but worth every penny in order to win my case and more so for having settled months before our trial date.

Exceptional divorce attorney

I engaged two other lawyers before I found Carlos Lastra, and I am so thankful that I made the change. Mine was a complicated divorce, with an uncooperative, volatile and verbally abusive spouse, and Carlos put a lot of thought into strategy, while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to the constan...tly changing events as they unfolded. He was compassionate in working with me, and I could tell that he truly cared about me and fought hard to get me the best possible outcome. An Oustanding Family Law Attorney

Divorce is never easy. In Maryland, the process is extraordinarily complex and difficult, particularly when it is contested and the other party challenges almost every legal point.
