Are You Kidding Me

Lisa is not a fighter, the fact of the matter is, she did little or nothing. The more i read over my opt out agreement the more I see how incompetent she was. Every time i asked her a question, she would reply with oh well that's the law. I would have done better if i did it myself. She did however d...o very well billing me for every second she claims to have worked on my divorce.

I am disappointed that this person is unhappy, posted anonymously and did not chose to address these issues with me directly. My goal with every client is to advocate for my client, communicate and keep my client informed, and to counsel my client with respect to the law and the procedure. I am obviously very concerned if a client, such as this individual, is dissatisfied because I work hard to represent every client to the best of my ability. I encourage my clients to discuss their concerns with me and ask questions during the process. From the very first meeting, I try to clearly inform my client of what to expect in terms of a likely outcome. If there are issues that really cannot be challenged, then that is what I will tell the client. In the area of divorce, there are issues that are dictated by the law that cannot be changed by argument or advocacy. For example, the Child Support Standards Act defines the percentage of child support for which a parent is responsible based upon the number of children and the parent's income. Often, based upon the particular circumstances of the case, advocacy cannot change the outcome of child support, and clients may not agree that is fair. In fact, to the person paying child support it often feels like too much and unfair. To every client and prospective client, I highly recommend that you trust and feel comfortable with your attorney from the time of the first meeting. If there is any hesitation on your part, then I encourage you to consider other attorneys. Divorce and family law matters are very difficult for the people involved, and it is very important that you have confidence in your lawyer from the very beginning and throughout the process.
