best of breed -- poised to be your advocate

I interviewed 9 attorneys before hiring Jonathan. I chose him because I wanted an advocate, a champion and someone who had my back. When working in a hostile environment where 'employment' means uncivil and zero-sum treatment, you want a coach to direct you through, give you a game plan and assure... your release. Jonathan speaks to corporate legal departments as their peer and your champion. If you want pussyfooting and coddling, don't hire him. If you want results, direct talk and action, he will get you to the other side with the liberation, compensation and results you ask him to achieve. I have referred others to Jonathan for similar result.

No Nonsense Advocate

Jonathan provided the support I needed through a tough time. He was direct and fearless when advocating for my rights with a former employer. He takes a no-nonsense approach to get things done and is well-balanced by a team that fights equally as hard with care and compassion. He gave me practical... legal guidance about when to push and what to expect. This is the team you want on your side. I would definitely work with Jonathan again.

Employment Dispute

I contacted Jonathan based on a friend's recommendation. He responded to my emails and phone calls right away. He was extremely direct and and knowledgeable. He didn't think I had much of a case but did give me good advise. I would contact him again in the future if I find myself in another empl...oyment dispute.

Unhelpful for a consultation

I found Mr. Slack through his website, which states he offers free consultations and gave a brief overview of my claim. Mr. Slack then responded asking, if my pay wasn't reduced "what is this claim for?" and "How would I be compensated if there is no money involved?" While both these concerns are com...pletely understandable, I found his attitude to be extremely condescending when the purpose of seeking an attorney was to see if I have a claim and/or if money could be involved, given that I am not an employment attorney. Perhaps Mr. Slack is a good attorney when hired, but from my brief experience while seeking a consultation, I cannot recommend him.

This young attorney did not accept the reality that without ascertainable damages, a matter is best initially handled through opening a dialogue with a supervisor or through Human Resources. Not all matters require outside counsel's involvement. Practice note: Always check spelling before hitting the send button.
