Honest, communicative, realistic, but will really fight for you ..excellent legal counsel!!

I was charged with a DUI in Hoboken and this was extra serious for me because it had the potential to really affect my career. I did a lot of research when I was looking for a lawyer because I wanted to make sure to find the best possible lawyer that I could afford. I spoke to many about my case. Mr ...Blauvelt inspired the most confidence in me and was towards the mid to lower end of the price scale (granted still far from cheap) and he had great reviews (such great reviews on here that I was actually skeptical as to whether they were authentic.. but no longer so!) so I hired him. Most of the lawyers I spoke to seemed to immediately talk about how they could probably get my sentence reduced ..I really didn't feel that I was guilty (I won't go into the circumstances of my case but they were very unusual) so I didn't want my sentence reduced.. I wanted to be found NOT GUILTY or have the case thrown out! I fully understood that no lawyer could guarantee that but I wanted them to at least be willing to fight for me and try. I found Mr Blauvelt's manner to be great. He was friendly, didn't just talk without listening, and he took me seriously. It came across right away that he is smart and very experienced and knowledgeable on DUI and traffic law and how the courts in NJ operate. He always showed up in court himself, never sent a replacement (very important to me) and communicating with him was generally fairly easy. Best way was through email and when I would call his assistant would answer and he would usually return my calls within a few hours. He kept me involved and I came away feeling like we were teaming up to take this on rather than handing my case over and hoping for the best. His great manner also extended to the courtroom. He comes across as confident, respected, and experienced and he made me feel less nervous right away. He told me what was going to happen at each court visit and what the likely next step would be. A recommendation I would make to anyone hiring any lawyer: stay involved! Do your own research, read up on similar cases, make recommendations on possible strategies, be honest with your lawyer and discuss it thoroughly. Nobody cares as much about your case as you do (no matter how much you pay them)! So by staying involved and making your own efforts you are also motivating your lawyer to make a strong effort for you. After 4 or 5 court visits the case ended up being thrown out by the prosecutor. Needless to say I am incredibly grateful to Mr Blauvelt!

Nothing but the Best

Thomas Carroll Blauvelt is as remarkable as a man as he is a lawyer. His honesty and trustworthiness not only inspired me with a sense of hope, but allowed me to feel at ease when I was expecting the worse for my case. He was always responsive within minutes to any questions or concerns I may have ha...d, and his offices always kept me up to date with my obligations for my case. It's very comforting to be kept inside the loop, especially with court/legal matters. The level of fairness Mr. Blauvelt provided even allowed me to make a comfortable payment plan for his retainer fee, which was very fair considering what the outcome of my case was, including Mr. Blauvelt removing one of my two major charges completely, as well as downgrade a $750 ticket which included possible jail time, to a mere fee of just under $190. Words cannot express Mr. Blauvelt's ability to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients because his actions speak louder than words. Never in my life have I felt more at ease and satisfied with the outcome of legal services and the level of professionalism he displayed and accomplished was truly admirable. If you are facing some legal troubles, Mr. Blauvelt is without a doubt the best option you can get. For the flat rate fee he requests of his clients, this man is doing a favor to the public for his outstanding services. Mr. Blauvelt truly is nothing but the best.

the bow tie, knows law

If your looking for a top notch, well respected , professional lawyer, well I have to say you shouldn't look any further. I can only speak from my experience, of which is heart wrenching enough, tom was with me every step of the way. Not knowing the legal system I had a lot of questions. As I searc...hed for a lawyer, I heard war stories of how lawyers acted towards clients and I was very cautious. I met with a few, and the bottom line was, I have to trust my freedom with this man. Tom was the last I met, he was forth coming, honest, and by far the most reasonably priced. Granted his office isn't the best, he was late, and later found out has to drive very fast all day. I also found out its because he has a pretty good work load. This man has a passion, and its the law, he knows it in and out and believe me, I had a strange case, if he doesn't know it, he finds out very quickly. When in the court house, tom is very well respected, and my particular judge thought the world of him, although that is important in a criminal case the respect came from how thorough he is. The bottom line is tom dots his i's and crossing his t's..do yourself a big favor, stop looking, you've found the lawyer who will guard your freedom in the most professional way possible.. jim

Great Attorney open, honest and extremey knowledgable. Well respected and will fight for your cause without hesitatio

Thomas is a great attorney and very knowledgable not only with the entire array of municipal court statutes proccesses and procedures but also superior court matters. You can rely on Thomas to find the most cost effective method of disposing of your matter without the hidden or additional attourney f...ees. Thomas was very well known and respected in the municipal courts where he represented me and it made a difference as the prosecutor and Judge were willing to play ball. By FAR, the BEST lawyer in New Jersey

There are good lawyers, there are great lawyers and then there is Mr. Blauvelt. He stands in a class of his own as by far the BEST lawyer I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have hired him twice, and both times he handled my cases better than I could have ever thought possible. My fir...st case was for a major traffic violation and the other was for narcotics. He handled both cases extremely professionally and always made me feel like I could completely trust him. The traffic violation should have caused me to lose my drivers license and a very hefty fine. He worked it out to only a minimal fine which I gladly paid and I did not lose my license at all. The other case was much more serious, a third degree felony drug case which could have landed me in prison plus a Very significant fine. Mr. Blauvelt worked on my case for over a year and he was able to get my case completely dismissed!!! I almost couldn't believe it when he told me. If you reading this you are very likely in a pretty bad way. What you want is an attorney who will do anything and everything possible to truly help you with the best legal representation there is. I know that if I ever need legal advise in the future there is only one person worth calling, Thomas Carol Blauvelt. Thank you again for everything.
