Outstanding Attorney

I went to Bruce after being given poor advice by another firm. He and his wife Shelley (also a lawyer) sat down with me and listened to all my issues and complaints. They were caring and compassionate--the two are real counselors at law, not just lawyers. Bruce and Shelley explained everything to me ...and handled my case with incredible expertise. They reassured me and answered every question I had along the way. I would highly recommend them for bankruptcy and/or foreclosure issues.

Highly recommend!

Bruce and Shelley are two very knowledgeable attorneys. They know the law and go out of their way to help and guide their clients with the best possible advice and solution to their problem. They are very patient and explain each detail of one's case in a way that a layman can understand. The go o...ut of their way to set up appointments at the client's best times. They also return calls/emails quickly with resolution. I am very grateful to them. I just went through a bankruptcy, which was very hard for me to do. Through their guidance and expertise the outcome was very good. They helped to get my life back on track after many years in a difficult situation with my home.

Personal Bankruptcy

The decision to proceed with personal bankruptcy was distressful and traumatic. I found myself being very confused and not knowing what steps to take. Fortunately, I found Shelley Slafkes from the law firm of Levitt and Slafkes. During the consultation phase, Ms. Slafkes was very thorough in her expl...anation of the bankruptcy process. In addition, she recognized how distressed I was regarding this process and she was able to make me feel assured that this was the correct course of action. As such, I retained her services and proceeded. At each step, Ms. Slafkes was available to take my calls and was also available for each step taken to complete the documentation. We met on several occasions at her office where we reviewed the documentation prior to being submitted to the bankruptcy court. On the day of the hearing she again assured me that everything would work out fine. When we sat in front of the Bankruptcy Trustee, she was very caring and guided me through the questions that were being asked. Once the process was over Ms. Slafkes explained that in approximately 60 days, I would receive my discharge. She also stated that if I had any questions or concerns that I could contact her via telephone or email. I would recommend Ms. Slafkes and her law firm highly for bankruptcy or any legal concerns.

Beware of Bruce

We hired Bruce Levitt to help us through our foreclosure and keep us up dated on the timeline. We gave him a retainer for more than half the fees due to distance of court appearances that were not needed. Bruce Levitt dropped us like a hot potato never talking to us again his assistant handled all co...mmunications of unanswered questions but being charged over and over again for the same unanswered questions. Our contract states that we would not be billed for incomplete telephone calls. Bruce Levitt's contract with us included monthly invoices witch he never provided in 18 month. After constant calling and receiving no information we received our invoice after I had to threaten to report him to the board, we were charged over 30 transactions to the same unanswered question of what is the timeline of our foreclosure and can we have an invoice! We were charged $50.00 for Mr. Levitt to send an article as an answer to my question of "what liens would we be responsible for after bankruptcy?" I couldn't understand the content of the article. Charged $50.00 for a phone conference with an attorney that I don't know what part of our case did he pertain to. Beware of Bruce Levitt he is not a reliable attorney

I am so sorry that you feel that I dropped your case. While much of the work was done by my associate to save you fees, it was always done under my direction and supervision. This is the first I heard that were errors in the bill--please contact me and I will be happy to fix any errors. Although we charged a higher retainer because of the distance, unused fees were returned to you.
