I hired Josh Cohen several years ago to help me get out of default on my student loans. I had a truly astounding amount of debt, both from my undergraduate and graduate loans. No one ever goes to college or grad school planning to fail in their career and default on their loans, and I am grateful t...hat Josh is compassionate and understanding about how people can get into this predicament. In my case, a lot of trauma, domestic abuse, and complex health issues have led me to where I am. I am so glad that I found Josh, and he helped me consolidate my loans and get out of default about seven years ago. I was even able to get my mother removed from my loans as a co-signer through the consolidation. He helped me choose the best possible servicer, advised me on what kind of income based repayment plan to sign up for, and I continued to hire him every year to make sure my recertification for my IDR plan went smoothly. I decided to reach out to Josh again and had an appointment with him today. With student loan payments beginning again soon, and the fact that I've had some changes in my life, it seemed like a good idea to follow up with him. Once again, he was incredibly helpful and kind, and he gave me so much hope that sooner than I had thought possible I finally might not have this huge burden to carry. Joshua has changed my entire relationship to my student loan problem. Before talking to him, I felt weighed down by student loans that I took out for a school that did not provide me with an education that would allow me to repay the student loans. I had a very positive experience with Mr. Cohen this afternoon. He provided me with all the information that I was seeking in regards to my Federal Student Loan and repayment options.
