I didn’t realize what I was signing up for when I agreed to sign up for student loans. At such a young age my eye was on the prize of the degree. I did not realize what a lifetime of debt/hurt it would cause. After paying for over 15+ years for my doctorate degree I am not in any better place than... I was when I took out the loan. Mr. Cohen made me realize what I should have known or been told in the beginning. If only this knowledge was common and shared in the beginning I would not be in the place I am. Although I am thankful for my degree and the opportunities it has provided for me it should not be a secret what student loan debt actually means.
