Effective July 1, 2022, a new law in Indiana allows eligible tenants a fresh start with the ability to seek to restrict public access to certain eviction proceedings that plague background checks and make getting another apartment lease impossible. With the new expungement law for evictions in Indiana, certain eviction records can be sealed from public viewing and no longer accessible to background check services.
