Good morning everyone, My friend has been married with his wife for 8 years now. She received her American citizenship approximately 3 and a half years ago and my friend received his green card on February of this year. When can he apply for his American citizenship? Thank you.

I stayed out of USA for consecutive 175 days. After getting back to USA how long do I have to stay before going abroad again? Is there any ruing on total days of stay inside USA in a year with green card?

Hi, I applied GC for my parents after they arrived in US (Arrived: Feb'22, applied: June'22) and their GC's have been approved as of this May. Have following questions and seeking feedback: 1. If they stay here in the US till early July, they fulfill their 6 months/180 days annual stay requirement for this calendar year with GC. Is my assumption correct? 2. My parents would also like to avoid the winter season (old age) in the US and would like to come back during Apr/May next year. This would mean they would stay outside US for > 6 months but < 1 yr. In reading through USCIS website, it looks like showing GC at entry and establishing immediate family ties (both their kids are here in the US) is considered enough for the CBP officer to admit them in case they get questioned. Is this correct? Our plan is to ensure post this one time long duration, they will be spending Apr-Nov every year with us from then on. Please advise. Thanks Ganesh

I went to Mexico on 02/03 and plan to return on 06/11. That’s 129 days and I’ve read that the yearly max amount of days you can spend outside the U.S. as a permanent resident is 180 days. I plan to stay in the U.S. for three months and return to Mexico in September for another three months as I am retired and want to spend time with my elderly parents. Is it 180 days per rolling year or does the amount reset in January? Since I’ve only been out of the U.S. 129 days, could I go back to Mexico in September for 51 days without issue as that would bring me to 180 days?

Hi Immigration experts. I am looking for directions or personal opinions on living with my spouse while waiting for the immigration case to be approved. Here are a few more details about my case. I am a US citizen. My spouse and I have been married for almost two years. I work in the States, and my spouse lives overseas. In Feb 2023, we got our nvc DQ, and we have been waiting to schedule my spouse’s interview at US Embassy. Of course, the long waiting since the beginning of the process had its toll on us. Nonetheless, we are trying to keep calm with a positive attitude. I have recently considered relocating outside the US to be closer to my spouse until the immigration case is approved. I am afraid it might get rejected if I relocate outside the States or get significantly delayed. Any advice is welcomed.

I'm a green card holder, what's the safest way to spend time with spouse outside the US without affecting my green card status? Should I file for white passport? also do I need to renew the white passport after each entry?

I am a US Citizen. We have been married on November 20th 2021 and will be 2 years in Nov 20th 2023. Her I-130 is approved and the case is in NVC. If my wife gets a visa now and then travel to the US after Nov 20th, will she be issued a 2 year or 10 year green card? Does this 2 year conditional green card rule applies during the visa issuance date or date of entry to US from marriage day?

I have got my green card that is backdated to May 2022. I have been also married to my wife who's a US citizen since February 2021. Can I apply for Naturalization based on marriage within three years counting from May 2022 even though the basis of my green card is asylum? Or should I wait five years and apply to naturalization? I want to know if this is a possibility ( becoming LPR on asylum basis and applying for naturalization based on marriage). Thank you

If I travel to Mexico with visa and escape from border of mexico to usa without us visa and I,m in illegal in usa can I adjust of status and get green card from green card holder or I can't

I have I 551 stamp on passport, wherein the stamp validity has expired. Green card not yet received. USCIS has given me I-94, with name and other details on it, along with notation that - 'Upon endorsement it serves as temporary I 551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year, valid till May 2024' Can I enter US based on the above I-94 card.
