Legal advice on Divorce in North Carolina

I got served and some of our stuff was filed incorrectly from my last lawyer and we haven’t finalized alimony etc. When it’s time for me to sign expires and if it’s not done, what happens?

I am separated from my husband who was abusive to me. It is likely we will end up going through a divorce eventually. I have so many questions right now about bank accounts, credit cards, possessions, our home, our cars, etc. Trying to do the right thing and help us separate peacefully. Can I do this process without an expensive lawyer, or do I need to find a way to get a lawyer somehow? I'm so confused and also don't have a lot of savings.

I got married JAN 7th 2021 there are some huge underlying issues with the way my soon to be ex wife does things and her respect level for me I have been separated for a year and I have an eye disease so I’m on disability and need to know if I can get a custody agreement set up in place along with a a divorce by paying as little as possible because I can’t afford it

My husband lied and forced me to be committed by calling the police. He moved out of the house not telling the Judd and I. Under severe distress and confusion of him doing this, i told him to get out of the house. Most spouses if their spouse was truly suicidal would not have left them with the kids. Mine did and i was released 24 hours later. He told numerous likes to the hospital and they believed me. Can i still get him for abandonment of the home? It’s like a soneone under distress changing their will. It doesn’t hold up in court.

I know NC adultery is a crime. What if the person that did the cheating did it in Jamacia. Is it still a crime?

I've filed the paperwork to start the divorce process and mailed the paperwork to be served but just was notified that the address I thought was current is no longer her address. I can't find any other information that is current so where do I go from here?

I was awarded house during 2021 property distribution as part of 2021 divorce. Papers state it’s mine, I’m legally responsible for it, I’m to make all payments, pay taxes and insurance etc. Ex had to allow me online access to mortgage account which was in his name only (I was on deed). He chose to lock me out of the account multiple times. I was given until March 2024 to remortgage to my name only. Closed Aug 24. My ex presumably received the escrow refund (I had $3533.09 balance at the time of closing on my new mortgage account). The insurance was prepaid Jan this year thru Jan next year. A refund was issued for that also. Can he legally keep these refunds when he wasn’t paying the mortgage and the house was awarded to me on 2021? He also has to provide me with the statement(s) for tax purposes etc. But has locked me out again. Can I compel him to give those to me since it was court ordered? He has repeatedly not done as court ordered and tried to stop me refinancing into my name only by refusing to sign the deed over to me. Then his wife refused to sign after he finally signed when I threatened to take him to court for breach of contract.

It was a huge misunderstanding and blown out of proportion

We divorced but still together his parents watched the dogs while we both worked now. He passed this year. They will not give to me my dogs

over 14 years ago my ex spouse in an EQ order divorce decree the property was transferred to him he was give the debts and obligations of the property. He didn't refinance nor register it in the deeds department. The house is paid off but have me still responsible for it. he paid me in contempt a distribution award but this house is worth more if we split it. I could really help me since I went through a lot to divorce and it domestically and professionally injured me as a result. I would advice if I should quick claim deed it now when it is worth more now and could help me since I am disabled. way more than the amount I got back then?
