Legal advice on Divorce in Florida

I am in an abusive marriage and despite my husband denying it continuous, (it extremely excessively shouting and yelling). We live in a Condo complex in Boca Raton and now the office (community center) sent a letter to us, the office manager said tenant can hear him scream and shout and wanted to know if I was okay... this is how bad it is. I am just dealing with coming to the realization that he is abusive...and I have accepted too much- or avoided the truth b/c I am dealing also with an unwell father so also is draining me (but he is old and aging) and needs is daughter. I would like to know can my husband can be served while he is in New York in fear of him lashing out at me here in FL. He goes to NY for work and also to see his parents. We moved to FL in 2021 from NY. Can he be served while he is in NY at his parents/his apartment- fear of backlash here in FL. He is physically bigger than me and the verbal abuse is bad.

I am a man. My wife came out to me as a lesbian recently. She says she doesn't want to get divorced. She wants to stay together until our kids graduate high school. However, during this time, she wants to continue not working and have me support her and our children while she dates women. I had a finalized divorce on December 1st, 2022. I just received in the mail a General Magistrate letter from my ex-wife from this divorce. It doesn't say what for or any details. I don't understand what it is for or anything. I want to know what do I do next? How do I see the details of this?

I am American. I am outside the USA. I tried to establish residency in Florida by hiring a service who provided a residency and mailing address, I was told I could use for my bank acct info there, register to vote. I also registered my 2 kids an online Florida School program. I tried to file for divorce in Florida. But my husband filed a motion to dismiss stating Colorado (where he lives) is who should have jurisdiction. Also he is military. When I filed for divorce I hired a paralegal service that filed out all the forms for me. One of the forms that they filled out (that I did not sign but had an attachment of my signature) stated that he was not military. I had told them I did not know if he was in the army or not. All documents I signed were notarized with DocuSign and had some sort of ID to identify them. So there should be a way to show that signature did not belong to that document.The paralegals e-filed everything. So I realized that the case will probably be dismissed because that's what the magistrate said in the hearing. There is another meeting in 2 months online. I need help in knowing how to respond and what to do next.

My name change is included in divorce decree with bad things about my marriage. How can I get only name change page without being asked about the whole decree, since the page says 2 out of 12 pages and I am always being asked about the whole thing. Should I ask a notary, lawyer or clerk of courts help me with that? Where to start? Thank you

I have a parenting coordinator written into my divorce agreement, but she has been unresponsive and biased. I have told her that my kids described abusive situations multiple times, but she never reported any of them . Another therapist heard the same stories and immediately reported it. DCF was shocked it wasn’t reported sooner by the PC. Isn’t the PC. A mandated reporter? How can I get the PC removed from my divorce agreement? Should I report her?

I want to file for a divorce. Living in Florida. Have a child out of wedlock; no one is mentioned as a father on the child's birth certificate. No assets or anything to share, divide e.tc. Can we file for a Simplified Dissolution of Marriage or with a minor it's not an option. The husband is not the father of the child. Also, he is leaving for another country in a week and won't return. But it says both parties are required to appear before a judge together when the final dissolution is granted. Can we have a court hearing via zoom, then? How long it takes to get a divorce in FL, and how much, on average, is the cost of hiring an attorney if you have nothing to divide? Thank you

My wife has a job (makes good money), lives for free at her parent's home and has everything paid for, including child support which I provide. She has sent a counter-petition to my petition for a divorce asking for bridge-the-gap alimony to maintain the lifestyle she had and requested to be added to my life insurance as the sole beneficiary. This ironic because she caused me to lose my job which had benefits and everything out of spite and false stories, continuous calls to my employer to the point where it was just a distraction, and no one could get their job done. I was a good employee but due to this it was best to let me go. Now I am living with significantly less and cannot afford to pay for all her demands in her counter-petition, where I requested spousal support since she caused me to lose my job.

The TurboCourt form asks for "market value" of all assets. The actual home equity is much less, about $50K. Real estate market value is currently very high in Florida so I don't want to overestimate the market value. We owe only about $60K on the original mortgage and Zillow and Chase estimate the current value is over almost $300K without an appraisal. We are planning to co-own the home until the rates drop so that I can refinance it in my name alone. I just don't want to create a false asset value that will come back to haunt me later. We are using the forms for uncontested divorce. Thank you in advance.

My husband's attorney called my children to tell them they are going to be sent a subpoena for any and all monetary matters they may have with me. The children are 24 and 30. The children are very upset, and they asked him, please, not to involve them. My husband told them he has no control over that. He told them the attorney makes that decision. Is that true? I thought it is the client that directs his attorney what to do?
