Legal advice on Business in Connecticut

I was working at a company in and left a few weeks ago. Via e-mail I sent a two week notice of resignation. I returned all equipment in a timely manner. Two weeks later I received an e-mail from that old employer including a separation agreement attached and saying "Please sign and return the document. Then I will process your final check" in the e-mail. I am technically already "Separated" from them without signing the separation agreement, right? In the original employment contract it said I was an "at will" employee and "employment may be terminated (by the Company or by you) at any time" so technically, I'm free right? I was confused with the wording of "process your final check" as if I'm still bound to them. Also, it's the first time I received such a request to sign a contract. I asked them to modify the separation agreement for me releasing me from my non-compete and they did, but now I honestly don't want to sign it. I realized the non-compete is not valid because I will be working in a different profession for a company that does a completely different thing. I just want to move on with my life

I am an independent artist, producer and entrepreneur in the music industry. In order to secure my works, generate income, and have a foundation created that can be expanded upon as it grows, I have decided to begin forming my business structure. At its base it will include 4 LLCs, with one of those acting as a holding company to start an umbrella structure. I have my plans mapped out already, I pretty much am looking to ask a few questions to ensure my structure is legal to establish. Also to confirm that it will be the most efficient way to start. Me and my friend rented a office suite, she is a a hairdresser and I am an Esthetician. We’ll work in the same suite but independently each one servicing our own clients. Can we have have two different LLC do we don't have joint taxes, etc? How can we operate as far as business name? Thanks we will appreciate your response.

I recently started a job that had advertised a starting pay of $20 per hour with "immediate advancement opportunity". The job post goes on to elaborate what this means by saying, "Opportunity for Advancement: Pay increased by $4.50 per hour after training and receiving Industry Specific Certifications." I was informed about a week into the job that I wouldn't be able to attend said Industry Specific Training until I had been on the job for 6 months. Six months does not seem "immediate" to me. Are there grounds for a lawsuit for false/misleading advertising?

I needed a 10x30 climate control storage unit. This place didn’t have any so they told me they would give me (3)10x10’s and adjust the price to create one. The place has been bought 4 times and I keep telling them they are charging me wrong. They have adjusted the price to catch me up to charge me (3)10x 10’s. I was priced differently on each unit to make a 10x30 with climate control since they had non. they also told me to apply one ins that would cover all 3 units but just was told it only covers the one unit they placed it on. And also I just found out they have rats because i had professional movers put stuff in my storage and organize snd they found mouse poop everywhere. I am disabled but I haven’t been able to really look but I wouldn’t be surprised if my stuff is damaged and diseased now. I cant have my kids use any furniture or things that mice have pooped on. The rate should be 10x30 and they are giving me the run around. All I know is now I am paying a lot of money amd 3 10x10’s is a lot diff price than there 10x30.

Food is an important element at a reception. The caterer whom I had a contractual agreement for soul food was prepared with canned goods for nearly every dish except the mac and cheese which was burned and dried out. The fried chicken tasted a day old. The baked chicken had no recognizable parts i.e., leg, thigh, wing, breast. The candied yams were mistaken for fried beans among other things. No one went back for seconds and nearly 75% of the food was discarded. The catered stated that they cooked fresh food everyday and that they could handle large catering events. The food tasting was excellent but was no comparison to the presentation, taste on that day. I paid nearly $1400. They offered me a $177.13 credit toward future catering orders. There were other things in the contract that were ignored. What can I do. My only daughter, myself and the guests were mortified and the food became the topic of her otherwise beautiful wedding.

I am interested in making and selling alcohol-infused Jello and pudding shots to friends and family to bring to their events and parties. What certifications or registrations would I need to obtain to do this legally? Would I need to register a new business, apply for a liquor license, etc.?
