Legal advice on Business in Colorado

I hired a paint company, they did a horrible job. I asked for a discount, they discounted $500 on a $9700 bill. When I received the invoice for balance due, it was $2500 OVER the original bill making it over $11,000, and a threat of a lien.

I own my home and it is no longer a rental I now live in it and I want to remove it from the LLC

To fix this i have submitted by school ids (from us high school) which they “couldn’t confirm” my identity. Fair, it’s not official id. So i submitted my passport. Very official, and I thought it will be accepted. It is the same picture i used to apply for things in UsA and the picture was always accepted. But no. Still they couldn’t confirm my identity. I signed an agreement at my current job that states a competitive activity is: “ (i) developing, creating, offering, marketing, selling, performing and/or distributing products or services that compete with the business, operations, activities, products or services of the Company or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries; or (ii) causing or assisting any person or entity other than the Company or its affiliates or subsidiaries to take or attempt to take any action described in clause (i) above”. I currently work at a company that provides appointments with dietitians and meal delivery based on the dietitians recommendations. My current company treats only diabetes and high risk maternity. I have an offer from a new company, this new company allows patients to meet with MDs for virtual appointments and prescription refills. The new company only treats menopause. I don’t believe these two companies would be competitors in any way since the don’t treat the same health concerns, their treatments are totally different (meal delivery vs prescription meds), and they don’t work with the same populations. Am I safe to accept the new position?

I have been offered a contract to do freelance consulting for a start up IT company. It is for equity only. In the past, paying an attorney would not have been a problem, but I have not been feeling well the last few years and recently had surgery at the Mayo Clinic. My cousin wants to invest in here (USA), I live in Colorado & going to buy a business with his money, is it possible to put his name in that business as partner or what kind of legal document can be made for his investment, so that he’ll have proof that he invested in that business. Thanks
