Legal advice on Bankruptcy and debt in Illinois

Good afternoon. I have my own business in the US. Right now it has a tough financial situation and it is possible that I'll need to file for bankruptcy. My girlfriend is US citizen and we think to apply for a green card through the marriage process. Will it affect somehow on my green card? I don't have any problems with my background or any criminal.

I recently got into an accident that resulted in my car being totaled . I don’t have any insurance but I did pay for GAP insurance when i Leased my car . I still owe about 16k on my car . I’m only 21 and don’t want to file bankruptcy. What should I Do?

I have been living overseas for some time and have credit card debt in the U.S. All my income is earned with foreign employers. I have no assets (property, car, etc.) and will be staying and working in current location for quite a while (possibly never to be employed domestically again). I want to do the right thing and get this debt resolved somehow, but I am not sure of the best cause of action to take. Also, I have been having trouble finding a bankruptcy attorney who has experience with my particular situation.

If I file for bankruptcy under Chapter 7, will my portion of guardian ad litem fees in a divorce case be discharged? He was not involved in child support.

I file chapter 7 bankruptcy. I included my storage facility that I am behind on my personal property inside the storage unit was also considered exempt. In Illinois can the storage facility continue to prevent me from removing my property and sell it? I live in Illinois.

About a month ago the gal ordered me to pay 150 every pay check. I work part time and barely get 90 dollars from my check due to child support. I have poor credit, 100k if not more in debt, going to go through bankruptcy cause I can’t pay any of my credit cards, I can’t get a credit card or loan to keep up with payments. I told the gal I am struggling if there is any way to come up with another payment plan and she will not help me or even cares. I can’t get another job or anything cause then i would need to pay for child support. If she knows I work part time and make 90 bi weekly why am I ordered to pay 150 bi weekly? Im borrowing the most I can to pay 100-200 for therapy to see my son. What happens if I fail to follow court order due to my financial situation and in process of filing bankruptcy? Also, what can I do since the gal won’t work with me even though I explained this same situation?

I am looking for Bankruptcy attorney. Had a good salary 8 years ago when got ugly divorce and forced to pay wife support even when was unemployed (1/3 of gross pay). Since that had annual net pay ~ $65-70k only after taxes and alimony payments. Now 64, got laid off in December 2022, cannot find job till now due to my age and bad job market, sitting on unemployment. No savings, no stocks, only 401k, bad health condition, heart disease, the surgery will be needed, hypertension, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc... I filed for alimony modification, but the other party objected and forcing me to continue paying (~$7k monthly). I bought her this car 2 years ago. We are both on the tile but i am the one with the loan out. She pays the loan. I'm in a new relationship now and she will not go a see if she has good credit to have it only in her name. At one point she had no insurance on the car at all. She's been late on almost every payment to the point where i got a letter of repossession if i didn't pay 3,000. She finally paid it. My credit score is dropping bad due to her being late and not wanting to pay. I want to file and get away from this loan but can i since she's on the tile too? I do not care if means if i file and she doesn't keep the car. I want it gone.

What can I do when I have to pay for a bankruptcy so I can be off credit that’s why I need a lawyer asap.

My ex wife added my name to her auto loan without my consent in 2016 (while we were still married), she got the car repossessed a few years after and unpaid amount of nearly $6500 is still coming up under my name. She originally got the auto loan thru the dealer then refinanced the car with our joint bank, how she did it, beats me! But I for sure never signed any paperwork! I found out after the fact when I applied for a personal loan for a work truck, I didn't qualify because of her auto loan that came up. I've asked her a few times to pay if off so it comes off my credit because it's negatively impacting it, but she doesn't. I don't feel I should pay for her debt. I'm trying to buy a house and this is a large amount to pay off. How can I completely remove my name, since I didn't consent in the first place? What are my options at this point?
