Missouri law, statute section 290.110, provides that whenever a corporation doing business in Missouri shall discharge or refuse to further employ an employee, the unpaid wages of the employee then earned at the contracted rate shall become due and payable at the time of discharge.
Missouri law punishes failure to pay an untimely last paycheck
Under Missouri law, if an employee properly requests last pay in writing the employer has seven days from the date an employee requests to be fully paid to pay the money owed before penalties are assessed. If payment in full is not made in that time, the employer shall be obligated to pay additional wages until the wages are paid in full.
