What is the penalty or disqualification period for transferring property?

Currently, Medi-Cal looks back at the last two and a half years of your finances, and sees if you gave away any money to qualify. If you did, Medi-Cal will impose a formula, which will produce a disqualification period. For example, if you gave away $20,000 to your child to qualify for Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal would disqualify you for two months from the time of the gift.
