What is a marital settlement agreement in a divorce in Florida?

A marital settlement agreement is an agreement by the parties who are divorcing on how to distribute the assets and liabilities of the marriage as well as timesharing with the children. This is an agreement that can be made by the parties themselves if they're amicable with one another. It can be made in a collaborative setting or it could be made through mediation.
