In Utah, there is no crime in declining field sobriety tests. In fact it is probably best not to. Very few people can do the tests as perfect as the police require for a "pass". You are only giving evidence against you.
Do I have to answer questions?
You are only required to give basic identifying information. You do not need to answer any questions, and probably should not. Ask for a Lawyer.
Do I have to take a breath test?
In Utah it is not a crime to decline taking a breath test. However, there are consequences of losing driving privileges for longer periods of time.
