Homestead Property Tax ExemptionIf you are a Florida resident, consider filing the DR-501 form called "Original Application for Homestead and Related Tax Exemptions" This form and request may entitle you to exempt up to $50,000 of the value of your homestead from Florida Property taxes. Save our Homes Assessment Limitation and Portability TransferIf you are moving from one Florida homestead to another Florida homestead, consider filing form DR-501T called "Transfer of Homestead Assessment Difference." This form and request may entitle you to transfer your homestead assessment difference from your former homestead to your next homestead.This form is available on the Florida Department of Revenue web page.
