The AccidentAn accident occurs between two or more parties in which the at-fault party or parties cause personal injury or property damage to the other party or parties.
Medical TreatmentThe injured party visits the emergency room or medical provider and begins treatment for injuries. Medical costs accrue and can include doctor visits, surgery, prescriptions, physical therapy, etc. until the injured party reaches maximum medical improvement (MMI). This period could be several months or even years.
Law Enforcement InvestigationGenerally the police investigate immediately and generate reports, take photos and obtain witness statements about the accident. The length of the investigation depends on the seriousness of injuries and number of vehicles or parties involved.
