Triple Threat Match: Employee v. Independent Contractor v. Pro Wrestling UPDATE
I wrote a multi-part series about the biggest professional wrestling company in the world (WWE) and how they classify their wrestlers as independent contractors rather than as employees. In my series I went through the analysis of the IRS's 20 factors and made the argument that the proper classification of these wrestlers would be employees. I also showed why it would be hugely beneficial to the WWE to classify these people as contractors.
It seems someone has been paying attention. I would like to think that these people read my legal guide and came to this conclusion, but that would be speculation on my part.
