If you receive a traffic ticket in North Carolina, my advice is to seek legal counsel. Many people try to resolve traffic tickets without a lawyer. Although sometimes, they may get a good result, it is better to contact an attorney who is experienced and knows the NC DMV rules and NC law.
Traffic TicketsThe first thing I do when I receive a client with a traffic ticket, is pull their driving record. It is very important to look at the driving record first because that tells me how to get the best result. Many people who handle cases on their own without a lawyer think it is best to ask for a Prayer for Judgment Continued (PJC). However, in most cases, you do not need to use a Prayer for Judgment, and using it when you do not need it can prevent you from using it in the future for a case you do need it for. If you contact me to help with your ticket, I assure you I will work diligently to get you the best result possible.
The DMV sometimes gives incorrect informationBefore listening to a DMV customer service agent, call an attorney. Sometimes the DMV tells NC residents to pay tickets to get their license back. What the residents don't know, is that sometimes after paying the fines, the DMV then will revoke their license again due to the nature of the fine. The DMV can talk to residents about their license, but they cannot give legal advice. Call me anytime to discuss your case and I would be happy to help you.
