Tips for Custody Disputes in Florida
Helpful information when you are in a custody dispute.
1. School InformationPlease remember that both parents should be listed on the school records as a parent, emergency contact and allowable pick up for the child. You should do this unless you have a specific court order allowing you not to do so.
2. Medical InformationJust like with the school information both parents should be listed with all doctors and be allowed access to the information. Again, unless you have a court order that allows you not to do so.
3. Making AppointmentsWhen appointments are made regarding the child both parents should be made aware of them and allowed the opportunity to attend. This includes doctor appointments, parent/teacher conferences etc. Again, unless an order allowing something otherwise.
4. Access to the child. Both parents should have access to the child to allow them to have a healthy and happy relationship. Please remember that if you do not want to allow contact or do something that was mentioned above it is imperative you file the appropriate case. Denying contact on your own accord to a parent can have a negative impact on your case.
